Been coming here for years, but this is the first time I've felt compelled to leave a review. I normally only review somewhere if it is exceptional in some way, this time because of how exceptionally terrible our experience was.
The last few visits the food has been on a steady (but very minor) decline. I get it, people got sick, and now a bunch of "underpaid" workers aren't happy, so they take it out on other people by caring less about the work they do. Cool, whatever.
Not my issue. My family and I called for reservations. Your Google listing states you take reservations. Your phone staff, and front of the house staff are either liars twice, or a liar at least once with probably the worst wait staff attitude I have ever experienced.
When we called in, first off, no answer - three attempts and almost ten minutes in, someone finally answers and let us know you all do not take reservations. This is despite your business listing that you are responsible for, stating that you accept reservations. Second, they assured us that they weren't that busy, and they wouldn't have an issue getting us a table right away when we got there.
We get there in less than ten minutes. The voice of the person who greeted us was seemingly identical to the person who answered the phone, and her attitude was absolutely abhorrent with one of the most shallow "I'm sorrys" after asking if we were all twenty one or older with very evident children present. This person also "clarified" that they only make reservations for 8 or more people, and barely put in the effort of walking fifteen feet to check if wait staff were working on any tables.
The most irritating part was the lack of sympathy of being told two different things, and asking us to wait between ten and thirty five minutes. No thanks. Not with your piss poor attitude, especially because you will probably continue to blame bad things happening on other people. I hope, whatever your name was, you do not get fired, so you're reminded that the reason people don't like talking to you is because you're either too stoned to have a valid conversation with, or you have an attitude that does not work with a person-facing position...
Read moreMy buddies and I visited Everett from Seattle for our first Silvertips game, and as big craft beer fans, we were excited to check out Scuttlebutt Brewing’s waterfront location. It was a gorgeous sunny day in January—perfect for enjoying a beer outside. Unfortunately, our experience got off to a rocky start.
When we arrived, there was quite a wait for tables, which didn’t bother us since our plan was to grab a beer at the bar and head to the patio. However, the hostess’s attitude made for a poor first impression. She seemed annoyed from the moment we walked in and didn’t shy away from being rude, not just to us but to other customers we observed as well.
We politely explained that we didn’t need a table, as we planned to order at the bar and sit outside. Her response was baffling—she seemed completely thrown off by the idea. She told us there was no server assigned to the patio, so we couldn’t sit there. We reiterated that we didn’t need a server, but she insisted, even saying, “Well, I have no one to watch you outside,” as if we were kids needing supervision. It was condescending and unnecessary, especially since we’re all in our late 20s.
Thankfully, the experience improved from there. The bar staff and other employees we interacted with were fantastic—friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We ordered three Hazy IPAs, which were absolutely top-tier, some of the best we’ve had in a while. After asking two other staff members about the patio, they had no issue with us sitting outside. We ended up enjoying our beers in the sunshine, taking in the waterfront views, and getting hyped for the game.
Overall, Scuttlebutt Brewing has a great location, an excellent selection of beer, and a solid vibe. Unfortunately, the initial interaction with the hostess put a damper on things. It’s disappointing when one staff member can sour an otherwise great experience, but luckily, the quality of the beer and the other employees made up for it. I wouldn’t rule out coming back, but I’d hope for a more welcoming...
Read moreThis was our 3rd time here and 3rd time is definitely not a charm. Our daughter wanted to come for her birthday dinner but after our last trip of horrible service and the fact we dont go out too much with our three year old because she is fighting Leukemia, we were skeptical but decided we would give it another shot for our birthday girl. We came at around 7:15pm and new there would be a wait. We had a party of 6 and were told 30 mins or less. After 30 mins we noticed large party's of 4 and 5 being sat ahead of us. When I asked they said our table was being bussed. 20 mins later they said the table was ready. We sat down and ordered drinks around 8:10 and then food around 8:20. We even mentioned we had a birthday girl that went on deaf ears. We sat there like we were invisible and watched as every table got there food and ate. Even folks that came in after us were eating. At 9pm when the restaurant was supposed to be closing we asked for a manager as to why the food was taking so long. He offered no apology just told us his 2 best cooks quit and moved to Texas and ticket times were 40 mins or so. Would have been nice to know that up front but the fact that we sat there for around 40 mins or more and he did not mention once that "oh your food is almost up and should be out shortly" was never even mentioned, tells me food was not even close to being ready. So after arriving at just after 7pm we left just after 9 without eating a thing or even sniffing a salad. We asked for the check so we could leave and go to a different place and were charged over $30 for 3 drinks. No sorries just an it is what it is. Save your money and your time and skip this place. Service is terrible and food and drinks are overpriced and over rated. Management is no better and offered no help or discounts for our trouble. Would give it 0 stars if...
