Friday, Dec. 27, 2019 - Steve Antal here. - Vienna, VA My 5 year old grandson ran at full speed into the sliding glass door that leads out to our patio. This was old PLATE glass so when it broke it left huge broken pieces to hundreds of chard glass. By the grace of God the little guy escaped with a small cut on his knee. On to repair the door glass: My son googled 5 Glass Shops in our 20 mile radius. The first had no time and we were told to call back after the New Year. The second was just plain rude from the onset. Owner greeting "What do you want?, What do you need?, I'll call you back, I am busy now". Finally the third was Circle Glass - " Hi, how can I help you? Hope the little guy is OK., If possible tape and use some light plywood to cover on both sides so nobody else gets cut. We can be out at your home this coming Tuesday, Dec 31. " Great, they were to the point, helpful to resolve the immediate threat of further injury, got me an appointment and would follow up and call when the technician would actually arrive. Very Positive Customer Service !! I cleaned up the mess at home and decided to take the door out myself to prep for the technician. I also found I had scheduling conflicts for the following week and called them back. Spoke with the same customer service rep and asked, since the door was already out, if they could check and see if it could be done the same day. Mind you it is Friday 2 pm. The representative asked me to hold a minute - came back and advised to come to the shop with door frame and they will see what the shop could do. Hopped in the van with door frame and in a half hour showed up at Circle Glass - the rep met me outside and quickly ushered me to the side of the shop where a technician was waiting for me to drop off the frame. He quickly looked over the job, took measurements and confirmed that it could be done and the door would be ready in about an hour. I went in the front showroom waiting area where I was given a bottle of water and a genuine question of how my 5 year old grandson is doing. 40 minutes later, the technician appears to tell me the job is finished and the door is loaded in the van. I paid the VERY REASONABLE AND FAIR INVOICE. The owner came out we shook hands and also with the service rep and the technician. Folks, that is a perfect scenario of how a business should be run. This is a local shop that has been in business for 40 years. I believe in small brick and mortar businesses - they are in most cases ready to go the extra mile. They immediately gave me a plan. Executed on time and in budget. Customer relations - awesome. Explanation throughout the process all the way to the end. Awesome - thank you so much !!!!! Took my door home, reinstalled, works perfect !!!!! You have a home improvement project, upgrading, something broke, mirrors, shower doors or anything glass - they CAN DO IT !!! Thank you Circle Glass. I also took about 10 of your business cards to give to my neighbors and friends. Wishing the whole crew all the best for a visionary 2020 with best...
Read moreI would not work with Circle Glass and Mirror again, nor would I recommend working with this company to my friends or family. A comedy of errors and poor workmanship added weeks of time to my bathroom remodel.
My request was to order and install a single pane of fixed .5 inch glass. After the First install, I was left with the sloppiest looking shower one could imagine. (Pics included) Gobs of silicone were spread haphazardly on my tile and on the glass hardware, and the finished glass edge was not plumb.
I voiced my displeasure with Brad, the owner, who came to inspect days later. He agreed that the install was poor, but in the same breath insulted me by saying “well the guys (installers) probably just sped through your project since it was a small job.” Buyer beware that there is some unknown project cost threshold that you must surpass for Circle Glass and its owner Brad to treat you as a valued customer. My small job didn’t meet that threshold, unfortunately.
They sent out a new installer to reinstall the glass. The install was done better this time, the finished edge was plumb, but now the wall edge was pulled ~3/16ths of an inch away from the wall and heaps of silicone were applied to fill the massive gap. Sadly, again the project looked awful.
The issue was that the piece of glass was measured or ordered incorrectly, and Circle Glass was trying to pass it off as if it fit in the space. It did not.
Again, another week goes by… Brad comes back to remeasure. A new piece of glass is ordered and installed few weeks after that.
Not so much as a “sorry for the inconvenience” from Brad, guess you need to have a bigger job for that sort of treatment. Low quality service from low quality company.
Office staff was very nice to work with. They made the agony of working with this group bearable.
In response to the comments left by Circle Glass Owner, Brad:
As a glass professional, he should know that each piece of glass is etched with certification details in the lower right corner at time of fabrication, to claim that he thought it may have been installed upside down or in reverse is boldly untrue.
I as a customer never received any discount in original price. This too is a false claim from the owner. However, if Circle Glass and Mirror wants to issue me a check for my inconvenience, I would certainly cash it. I am not going to hold my breath on that happening, however.
Finally, regarding the “small job” comment left by the owner. The quote in the original review is written verbatim. It is not “wrong of me to say as much,“ as those are his words and not mine. I believe the consumer deserves to know what sort of character a company demonstrates as part of their customer...
Read moreCircle Glass has staff with Class! I could not be more impressed with the professionalism, quality and timeliness of the service I received, but this is a company who truly cares about their clients, even first time clients like me. I called Circle Glass after having broken the top of a glass jewelry/music box that is very precious to me. This was a Christmas gift given to me by my Mom many years ago. My Mom passed away in early January of this year after many years of illness. In fact, today, Christmas Eve, is the one year anniversary of the last day I spent with my Mom. It was important for me to have this jewelry box repaired quickly and I was really hoping to be able to play it's song again and especially on this Christmas. Circle Glass told me to bring it in and said they hoped they could help. I took it in the next day, and the staff listened to my story and presented several options. I selected the option that worked best for me, one they could do in house, and they said it would take about three days and that yes I would have it for Christmas. To my surprise, they left me a vmail later the same day saying the work was complete. To my further surprise, when I picked up the jewelry box, not only was it so nicely repaired, I was told "Merry Christmas." They wouldn't accept my payment. I was stunned, and I cried. Now, this was a small job to them, and I'm certain they would be out of business if they gave away their services routinely, but it warms my heart to know a company like this exists and I will recommend them again and again. Thank you Circle Glass for giving me a very wonderful and...
