I wish I had found this place earlier. Not only did I and my date have a blast (we were there over 4 hours and contemplated staying longer!), but literally everyone else I saw there was too, from the littlest kid to the biggest 'kid.' On top of good prices (for what it is--midways and arcades aren't ever cheap), great service, and amazing selection of fun things, they take their "don't be a little turd" policy seriously--nothing ruins everyone else's fun faster than a poor sport. Especially when that poor sport is a child whose parents are either oblivious to their child's behavior or too self entitled to admit with their child is out of line.
While we were there, an older child was completely misusing the go-kart track and was crashing into everyone (not safe--they are not bumper cars) to the point they were getting stuck (the go-karts were actually jumping the curb). He was given one warning, then after crashing (purposely) again, he was directed to drive into the service area (off the track) and told to leave (and wasn't able to finish the race). When the kid then tried to get in line to go again, he was told to leave, that he may no longer be part of the go-kart races. He and his (friend? brother?) got their undies in a wad and left the park.
I say this not to rant at a couple of kids, but to illustrate that they take the safety of their park and the enjoyment of all their customers as more important than avoiding pissing on one or two disrespectful individuals. And I have RESPECT for any establishment that does this! Their rules and regulations are there for a reason, and if you can't respect that, you can't participate.
Because they aren't afraid to shoo-off disrespectful individuals, everyone there (both employees and customers) are always having a blast. In fact, that same visit my date and I were playing a zombie-shooter in the arcade, and a girl about 5 or 6 years old made her mom stop so she could watch us--she became our own personal cheerleader ("OH! YOU GOT EM!" "OH NO! WATCH OUT FOR THE SPIDER MONSTER!!) and congratulated us (complete with fist bumps) when we beat the game. When everyone there is having such unabashed joy and fun even when they are simply watching OTHER people play, you know you're in a place of high...
Read moreAlthough the golf was fun, I left disappointed at the poor customer service at the race cars, and here is why:
We were a group of 4 adults, two of which (Mom & sis) are visiting from out of state. My visiting sister who is 47 years old has Downs Syndrome and because of her unique chromosomes, her height is too short and her hands are a little too small to drive the bumper cars, so I was her driver.
Mom is 83 years old and was excited to be a passenger, but was not in any shape to be a driver so she and my wife were then going to be in the other car with my wife driving.
WE DISCUSSED ALL OF THIS OUT LOUD IN FRONT OF THE TICKET SALES PERSON.
We purchased 4 tickets and when we got to the front of the line, the employee told us that Mom and my wife were not allowed to ride together because they claimed that Mom is taller than my wife.
Now... I'm not going to post a picture of the two of them, but take my word for it... Mom is NOT taller. If anything, my wife is 1" taller than Mom which you can easily see from close up or at a distance.
Either way, Mom was not interested in driving her own car so she sat by while the rest of us enjoyed the ride.
My reason for giving 2 stars is because when Mom went back to the window to get her ride money back, the ONLY solution given was to take a "credit" for a ride in the future.
They would NOT give her money back even though she does not live here and my wife and I will not be returning. We only visited this establishment to do a fun activity with our out-of-state family and it's not a place we would go without them.
I was truly disappointed in their "oh well" attitude. The money was not that much, so it was the principle that we explained we will not ever return for that future ride and they still held firm on only offering a credit.
I left feeling taken advantage of and uncared for. I would have given this place only one star, but that seems unfair since we did enjoy the...
