Veterans Memorial Park — Attraction in Fairport Harbor

Its a beautiful little park but needs some updates and maintenance. It has the space on the east side to add a nice wooden playground, this would be great for people that do not want to go to the beach. Also, the main memorial is falling apart and needs fixed up soon. The floor is getting dangerous to walk on, especially for kids. Also, ths Fairport Harbor maintenance crew does not keep up on weeds and edging the trees before mulching, this makes the job look poor and unfinished. Lastly, a few grills may be nice for patrons to use the park for family outings. If you are looking for somewhere to just relax in quiet, it is nice and has a lot of benches and is very close...

A simple passive park not far from the harbor and the lighthouse, this open green space includes a gazebo, some walking paths and the Finnish Monument, a Finnish-quarried granite sculpture that is a tribute to the Finns who settled here in Fairport which reads "Dedicated to celebrate and honor all Finnish heritage families" and includes an outline map of Finland with the crossed flags of the United States and Finland.

There is street parking on all four sides...

It's a cute little town square park with decent lawn space, and is pretty well manicured. Great for picnics and family recreation. I often find myself using this park as "home base" when playing Pokemon go on community days due to the frequency of pokestops in the area and gyms located...
