Fantastic recreational place! Great for the whole family. They have many activities for all seasons. We absolutely LOVE the summer programs! They have many options for kiddos from ages 4 and up. The camp staff/teachers are ABSOLUTELY amazing!! We have had nothing but great experiences. Heads up if you're planning to send you children here for summer camp, plan to sign up early because it fills up quick !!!!!!!!!!!!!!. The aquatic center is fantastic although they did make a lot of changes so be sure to read before you sign up. They have a schedule online. Make sure you check it because they have classes scheduled for different age groups. Open swim I think opens at 2 pm. Please check the schedule before you visit. The lifeguards are nice and very serious about the pool rules. They are not shy to enforce them to all children and adults. I love it because it keeps us all safe. They have an area in the pool that is designated for young kids ages infants to 5 years depending on comfort level of the child. It's shallow enough where kids can play in the water safely. Parents need to be with their children of course. They also have a HUGE water slide that is awesome 👍🏽!! As an adult I have been on it and loved every minute of it! There is a height chart requirement. Kids are measured and they must be experienced swimmers. Kids wearing lifejackets will NOT be allowed to use the water slide. There are two pools one is about 3 feet and all people can use this pool. Within this pool there is a lazy river. The water current takes you round. It's fun! There is another pool that is very deep and the lifeguards need to see you swim prior to letting you use it. They assess your swimming skills to make sure you'll be safe. They offer life jackets for the kiddos who are still learning to swim. Life jackets sizes range from 8 months to 10 years old depending on the size of your child. They also encourage parents to bring their own life jackets if you have some available. They clean the lifejackets regularly. The changing rooms in the pool area could use more cleaning. It's hard to use them especially with children when they are dirty.
On a brighter note they offer exercise classes of all sorts. Check online for schedule and classes. The gym opens as early as 5:30 am. It's a good size gym with weights and exercise machines. If you're a resident of Farmington hills you can be eligible for a resident discount. Be sure to ask the front...
Read moreThis place pissed me off. We had the family membership I think it’s $60 a month, after a few months my son was going to start school so we filled out paper work to pause the membership for a couple of months since I wouldn’t be going as often. Instead of pausing it , they canceled it but didn’t notify me. I asked my husband how long the pause was (you have the choice of 2 months & a longer option can’t remember if it’s 4 or 6 months) we thought he accidentally did longer than 2 months & they just hasn’t charged us yet. Then when I realized it had been too long I called to have the situation rectified they told me I have to re sign up ( pay the sign up fee it’s twice whatever your monthly payment is) I felt like it was their mistake (no apology was made) & it was like well you waited to long to call us. EXCUSE ME! I filled out the proper paper work & someone mistakenly cancelled so the THE HAWK MESSED UP, not me. I asked to speak to a supervisor & no one answered of course. I was polite the whole time, because it wasn’t the person on the phones fault but they are in organized & unprofessional. There is also a elderly white man at the front desk who makes me so uncomfortable, everytime I walk past the desk he ask where I’m going or what I’m doing like he didn’t just see me sign in. He acts like I need permission to walk to amenity and I feel that it’s because I’m a young black woman. He’s the only one who acts like a hall monitor with selective memory. Do I need permission to walk to the gym? He ask where I’m going like there’s a secret room I’m not supposed to enter. Please replace him or correct...
Read moreI wanted to like this place so badly, but the way that I was treated by staff ruined it for me. I brought my youngest daughter to a classical music showcase here. The entire time that I was letting her explore before the show one of their workers just kept saying, to other guests but loud enough that we all could hear, that she doubted that we would stay because it probably isn't either of our preferred genre of music and how "some people should learn to hire a babysitter." Then, about two minutes before the show, my daughter dropped her pacifier, and it was under the seat in front of us. I asked nicely if the man could pass it to me to ensure that she is quiet while sitting and drawing during the show. His response was, "If it was that important, why didn't you bring an extra?" I left out to calm down and let my daughter run a bit so that she wouldn't be squirmy during the show, since that is what happens when she doesn't have her pacifier and is expected to stay in a chair. While in the lobby, one of the staff members who was cleaning came up to me and said "isn't so nice when you're just the nanny so you don't have to worry about actually parenting or disciplining the kid?" The lobby was empty and she was running back and forth between me and a wall, not causing any problems for anyone and letting her burn off energy was me trying to not run the risk of disrupting anyone. We eneded up just leaving after that comment, even though my daughter fell asleep as soon as we walked out the door and no one would have been bothered by our presence, though that is clearly what the staff...
