A black overweight manager at this location was very rude to my mother and me yesterday Monday, November 25th around 11am. We were asking about rugs to the cashier because a store sign said buy1 get 1 50% off for kitchen and accent rugs as exactly where we got our rugs. After my mom had paid and noticed that the discount for 2 rugs did not show up on her receipt she asked the cashier about it and the cashier paged for manager in the store and had asked us to step to the side so she could check-out other customers, we did exactly what the cashier requested us to do stepping to the side and waited for a manager to be with us. We observed the manager in the furniture department conversing with a male big lots employee and she seemed like she was having a good time, they were laughing it seemed like they were at a powwow instead of actual work. She was talking to this male employee for about 10 minutes before she slowly meandered her way over to my mother and I at the front of the store . She rolled her eyes at us before approaching us. She absolutely did not want to come help us nor did it seem like she wanted to end her conversation with her male big lots employee. We dismissed that and explained what her Big Lots sign stated for kitchen and accent rugs were sale sign and when we got to the register and nothing came off price it left us confused! notice in the picture the sign says accent and kitchen in front to the side was the rugs we purchased in front of sign . my mother thought it was an accent rug as did I and we noticed nothing came off the total price. So, after waiting for their manager to get done with her employee conversation came to speak with us. She was very short saying “uhm no that’s a utility rug .” Even after saying they need to change their sign she just walked away and says very sarcastically “have a nice day.” never acknowledging they needed to make a better sign she walked away from us. My mother and I were walking out the door we said to each other “Never again will we step foot in this store!” This manager wasn’t nice , extremely rude seemed like we irritated/were bothering her and we will not go back to this location or any big lots. Yes this is going somewhere cheap you get cheap people to help! Awful...
Read moreI scarfed up some Christmas bargains at 90 % off. I bought things to set aside as stocking stuffers. After all, we have a little less then 11months of shopping days until Christmas, 2019. In addition to Christmas, I stocked up on half price bath fizzies for birthday presents. And, my son is slowly converting his Christmas lights from regular to LED. Neighbors and out of town visitors have come to look forward to his annual computerized light display. During Hurricanes Flo and Michael, much of his supplies were wrecked due to water damage. I'm helping a little and with 75% off, I was able to help a lot. A Big Lot--lol. I even bought two topiary snowmen...you guessed it...90 % off at $6.00 each. Big Lots has recently reconfigured its sections. It is evident because the store is clean, bright, and well organized. Years ago, I used to have a reoccurring dream about going into the Raeford Rd store's bathroom. It was gross and a person has no control over their dreams, but I have a feeling I won't have that dream again. The restroom was clean, well lit, had a fresh scent and was organized. Just for you neat freaks--don't line the seat with toilet paper and then leave it for someone else to clean after you. Don't be a hypocrite. Would you do that in your own home? The upcoming holidays: Valentine's, St. Patrick's, and Easter, as well as spring gardening, are all represented with fresh, neat, well organized displays. I think Big Lots has to reconsider its pricing strategies though, because some of its dollar store-style inventory comes with a not so comparable price. Also consider senior and military discounts. I was recently at a store in Alabama called Dirt Cheap which in certain sections was dirty and cheap. Lol. If a store of that lower caliber can offer 10% off on Mondays for military and 10% off for senior citizens on Tuesdays, I know Big Lots can afford to offer the discounts as well. After all, they are not charging dollar...
Read moreSo I am an frequent shopper at Big lots. I do say that I would tend to spend more than I should when I come at least once a week. I do try to go for the deals and I like to use my coupons. They've always been helpful and friendly in the past. Today I went in to buy some things and came across a nice set of cutlery from broyhill that I really liked and it was 50% off. So at the register they rang it up and it was like $6 off which clearly was not 50% because the total price of the cutlery was $30. I told them it was 50% off and there was a sign right underneath it that stated that she said sorry but that's not what it's ringing up as and that was that so I told her I did not want it and she took it off my transaction. After I was done checking out I went back to the cutlery section and took a picture of the sign because it became effective as of today for the sale and took it back up to the register to show them that it was 50% off and they just told me thanks appreciate you so I would say that was extremely rude and honestly I don't think I'll be going back to this Big lots. In fact the girl at the register that sees me there so often said to me while there was customers in line checking out said I know when you come in anyways meaning like I caused trouble or I'm not person that will put up a fight just to try to save some money. Well if you have a sign that says something yes I think you should abide by it otherwise take your signs down. One...
