Food Lion — Local services in Fayetteville

Overall not a terrible place to shop, just a couple complaints tho. First, not all but some of the employees aren't very friendly, downright cold without the social skills required to deal with the public. & Secondly I LOVE baked items, (cakes, pies, etc). I especially love the cakes & cupcakes with the white icing & the strawberries on top that come in 3 different sizes. & lately I've noticed that they are slacking & cutting corners badly. What used to be a decent sized cake has shrunk down to an insultingly puny little thing that I can literally eat in one sitting, they've also gotten skimpy on the icing & the strawberries. I thought the price was a little high before they shrunk, but they're so good, & the size was so that I felt it was worth it. But now no thank you, I'm not paying $9 for what amounts to a fat pancake with a little bit of icing & a few strawberries on it. I wish they would either bring the price down or go back to making it right. They are insulting many of their life long loyal customers, including myself... UPDATE Well I've done a good bit more shopping here since my original post. My only update is that there are a few cashier's here that don't seem to enjoy their jobs. Cranky, rude, & very inhospitable. Not all of them are like this of course, but the ones that are make the shopping experience not...

My granddaughter called from school and asked me if I could bring her a lunch. She wanted a Chick File A combo, but I couldn't afford it. I remembered that she liked Food Lion sandwiches, so I stopped there. In the deli's premade section, I found a ham and cheese, mini-sub for about $3.99 with a 50 cents off coupon. Packets of condiments were conveniently located next to the sandwiches. They had a good deal on large Arizona teas for 99 cents, but I wanted something with a cap. The brand name individual sodas, drinks, and water were $1.99. So I kept searching until I found a cold lemonade for $1.29. I'm not cheap, but I am on a fixed budget. One of the employees steered me to a section of sale items. The cashier was really pleasant. We joked around about school lunches. My granddaughter's lunch cost less than $5.00. On the way out, I saw our local firemen and chatted with them. I thanked them for their service. We recognized each other. They had rescued my husband's service dog when Trooper fell through the ice in a neighbor's swimming pool last year. Trooper would have died if they hadn't responded. All in all, Food Lion saved me money and the firemen saved Trooper. I left with a real warm and fuzzy, ...

A great big thank you to all essential workers at Food Lion ! They've continued to serve the community during the pandemic and kept the doors open late for those who also kept the world running during this most challenging time. The employees work hard shuffling, stocking shelves constantly and offer assistance to customers while doing so. Food Lion is a great place to grocery shop. You'll find most all of your grocery needs , including specialty foods ( gluten free , organic , international , local , much more. ) The produce and meat section is kept clean and organized . If you need to make a late night run for food or household items , Food Lion will be open till 11 pm . They're one of the front liners that kept the doors open .
