I'm new in town and asked around at the fabric stores to find a place that would service my Viking machine. Most referred me to this store, so I felt confident when I dropped my machine off. The price was reasonable for yearly maintenence.
Little did I know that the man responsible for the tune-up would decide I needed some purely cosmetic items replaced on my machine without calling to ask me first. Of course this made the price twice what was expected.
The woman who called to tell me the machine was ready for pickup also told me the price but apparantly never communicated this to the man doing the repair who was also the only one who could adjust the price. He was never available to talk with me, never called me, and was never present in the store. My only option was to leave my machine there and hope he took off the cosmetic repairs or pay for the whole thing. Can't say I trusted him at this point, so I paid the price.
Everyone that I met at the store was kind and helpful. The store had a nice variety of craft and sewing items. If it had not been for the fleecing I took on my tune-up, I would probably enjoy the store for supplies and crafter camaradarie. Now, I'll settle for JoAnn or Hancock fabrics.
For whatever it's worth, my machine works fine and was ready for pickup quickly. But the pricey little items he replaced are still not used or necessary to the function of the machine. They wont get a dime of my...
Read moreThis is my go to place for stained glass. They're the only place within 100 miles of me that has stained glass that isn't hobby lobby. They have multiple walls of high quality stained glass. Name brands and even custom made glass like youghiogheny glass. Their prices are equal to or even better than hobby lobby. While I do like hobby lobby glass for it being easy to use, it's nothing compared to the quality of the glass here. And I get some sheets for as low as $5 here. Obviously some of the higher end ones can get up to $20-30+ but even those are good prices. And they have all of the extra stuff that I've ever needed. They have all kinds of came, lead or zinc, and in all kinds of sizes. They also had miter jigs for cutting the came and even little jump rings for hanging stained glass pieces. The store also has a ton of other arts and crafts and fabrics and apparently they have a nice sewing machine and quilting section, but stained glass is my thing and they deliver. Support local and shop here! Once these shops are gone, where else will you be able to look at glass in person...
Read moreThis was my first time coming here. I was told about this store from a friend of mine. We were greeted warmly by the older lady sitting by the front door. The lady and the gentleman both asked if, they could help me find anything. I came in for cake boxes and they have a large variety to choose from. Once, I found what I came for, I explored the entire store and the large variety of baking items, knitting, crocheting, crafts, sewing and so much more is wonderful. I will be coming back here especially for the baking items. They do offer military discount as well. I would recommend coming here to just take a look around and see what all you can find. 🙂 I did buy other things than what I came...
