Fitchburg Art Museums is my kind of place -- it's a small museum and so you can see the whole thing in a few hours, for $5 admission [seniors, students] and $9 for others, and park free. There are frequently new exhibits in the well lit galleries. The staff is friendly and helpful. Right now the Butch Heroes exhibit is really interesting. The artist researched women who lived as men in previous centuries, drew them like a Tarot card, and shared the highlights of their stories -- many of which ended violently when they were discovered. The museum makes a Community Gallery available for non-profit groups and schools. They are host to Atomic Artistry, our group's [Eco-Nuclear Solutions] juried exhibit and competition going up March 6-30, 2024. It's about nuclear energy at the intersection of art, science and climate activism. The staff members have provided outstanding support and communication for this project, also supported by the Mass. Cultural Council. The photo is of "The Gift" of zero-CO2 emissions nuclear power, submitted by Jenny Jasmin Lacay of the...
Read moreI took my 6 year old and 1 year old sons to see some art. We had a wonderful time. Jeanine was working in the African exhbit and she was so wonderful. She took so much time to explain the exhibits to us and showed my son all of the hands on experiences. She even asked that he set aside what he uses so that she can disinfect it after use. That made me feel a sense of relief that she cared so much. She was so friendly and knowledgable. She really is such an asset to FAM and we hope to see her again on our next visit, we learned so much from her. The price is very reasonable, however my local library had a pass to get in for free and so I did not have to pay on this day. It was an absolutely beautiful museum and we...

Visit the permanent Egyptian Exhibit and Moving Objects of Oceana Don't miss the exquisite Eleanor Norcross exhibit; museum founder, painter, philanthropist, and so much more. I highly recommend the Fitchburg Art Museum as one of the overall best places to go where the whole family can...
