I have gone twice so far. The first visit was good service and food was excellent. It is pricey for what you get, however, so definitely not somewhere I would frequent often. The second visit was terrible. The food definitely had great flavor but it was served with super soft blue corn soft tacos that completely fell apart. I was put off by bright the purple inconsistent dye on them as well. The first visit there were yellow corn tortillas they held together better, tasted better and probably less processed. So it was definitely a put off that made the chicken and beef tacos (my husband ate), less appetizing. But the presentation and inside contents are delicious. I would also add that the amount of salsa is way too small. There is not enough salsa for the amount of chips given. And nobody asked either visit if we wanted more.
Besides the food issues, the service was really bad. We were sat at a table and the hostess asked what we wanted for drinks. She brought us two waters and a flat beer for my husband. We then waited a good 10 minutes before a guy came over and we told him the beer was flat. He offered us something else in a bottle, which was better. We sat at least another 5 to 8 minutes wondering when our order would be taken. A girl comes over and introduces herself, "I guess this is my table, they just told me I have to take this table." No name, no sorry if you waited a while, nothing polite or friendly. She then took our order and I asked for a mixed drink at that time. Our order was maybe another 10 to 15 minutes, so not horribly long. She brought out the tacos and we told her they looked different. She just nonchalantly was like yeah.. just a different color that's all. So she definitely knew we were wondering what was going on. The drink finally came after I started eating the food. I did hear all the staff talking and sounding immature while I ate. One waiter was saying someone spilled something but he wasn't going to help right away and let them suffer. Yes, he said let them suffer....really?! They laughed and joked about it. Nobody checked on our food or asked if we needed anything. And we had to find our waitress to ask for a box and check. My husband didnt finish the last two tacos because it was too much work eating them while they fell apart. I used my fork and made a mess on the plate.
For two taco plates with 3 small tacos, a small portion of rice, a beer and one mixed drink it was $60. So, definitely not cheap for what you get. I would be ok with this if the service was better. Management needs to step it up. You need a front of the house manager and to train the waitstaff better. It was really unacceptable service. They also seemed to not want to be there, which I get since I have worked in restaurants and customer service positions. But you definitely need to hide that and...
Read moreI used to go to the previous restaurant at this location, so my friends and I were excited to see what they had done with the place. Asthetically, the restaurant looks great. The interior wood gives an authentic Mexican vibe, and the bar has been revamped and stocked with a great variety of liquor. The menu isn't very large, which allows them to focus on their specialties. I was unfamiliar with most of it, so I played it safe and went with the pollo fajitas. They provide you with some salsa and tortilla chips, along with tap water (yuck) in a nice, flip top bottle. Our waitress appeared to be a bit out of her element. I'm not sure if she was new or if she wasn't with it on that particular day, but the service wasn't great. When I got my food, the chicken, onions, and peppers came out sizzling on a cast iron pan. On my plate was a small scoop of rice, some beans, sour cream, and guacamole. I had told her that I did not want the Pico de Gallo, and she made sure it wasn't on my plate. There was also a separate container for the three tortilla wraps for my fajitas. The food was decent but not exceptionally flavorful. I was expecting a more bold, Mexican flavor. Overall, it was a bit bland. The menu prices are fairly high for that type of food and portion sizes, with my meal costing $18. When it came time for the check, we had asked the waitress to make two separate checks as my fiance and I were paying for ourselves. The waitress ignored that request and combined them. I called her over and asked her if we could have the check separated to just reflect what my fiance and I ate and drank. My friends would be getting their own check for their food and drink purchases. We ended up having to do this three times as the waitress could not grasp the idea of two checks. We even circled what was separate and did the math for her. It wasn't a language barrier, as her English was perfect. As I stated previously, she seemed out of her element. Overall, the experience was okay. I'm not sure if I would go back other than a get-together with friends for a social gathering. I would suggest others give it a try as all experiences...
Read moreThis location is in center of fitchburg on main St which the area is improving but still several abandoned shops as we walked to the restaurant. When we opened the door it was like stepping into a whole different area of the city. Very fresh, modern, new and comfortable. We arrived on a Saturday just after they opened and not too busy. The server was great and the menu was in English but parts were Spanish/mexican words making it feel very authentic. We ordered margaritas, which were made FRESH and not pre-made like many restaurants do. We started off with appetizer of Guac/chips and it was good portion with lots of flavor and presentation was great. The margaritas arrived soon after and they were in a cool old fashion mug with flavored salt edges. We ordered fajitas and burrito. The fajitas were great and they gave you a huge side of guac, Spanish rice, refried black beans. Very tasty with plenty of flour tortillas. The other dish was a burrito that was ridiculously huge. Visually an overstuffed chipotle burrito with tons of flavor and and queso on top. Could only eat half of it. Each bite was better then the next. The server was on point and made sure we had everything we needed included drink refills. It was great and we left feeling full, and completely satisfied. I don't do any social media or would have shared the experience while we were enjoying the lunch. Talking to the server the evenings are pretty busy and the atmosphere is lively. It's worth a visit. We will definitely go back with the whole family. The price is $$ and worth...
