I recently stopped in to ask a simple question, and instead of a simple answer the employee/manager began to give me the life story of everyone that preordered a product. It seemed as if my simple question about how long they hold preorders, was turned around to make me feel bad for even asking. These kinds of questions would not need to be asked if you 1. Had at least one item to purchase in store from a product release planned nearly 3 months ago. 2. Began preparing and having the item shipped the prior week, rather than the same week, to avoid unforeseen circumstances 3. Stopped allowing bots purchasing of all product online and allowing people to preorder 10 of the same item at every gamestop that they can manage. The associate told me that they couldn’t take it unless it was “opened” which was incredibly confusing. She told me that it was the policy that they couldn’t take the new game back and I needed to leave, open it, and then take it to another GameStop as a used game for lower credit. Again this is a brand new game with the plastic still on it. And the online return policy states I could take any new item back within 15 days AS LONG AS ITS UNOPENED.
Exasperated, I called the other GameStop in Houston rd about it and they said as long as I could present the receipt they’d replace it fine for full credit. So I did. Go to that one,...
Read moreMy wife went in to get a pokémon product that released today. She had already been to 2 other stores looking for it. When she asked about them at this location, she was told they have them but they are somewhere in the back. The employee didn't feel like trying to find them and told her to check back in the morning with the manager of the store. She was very put off by his smugness left feeling defeated. This isn't the first time we've been treated this way at this location. Whether it's the employees chatting and acting like you're interrupting or the general dismissive tone when you need help. I woukd suggest trying another store or gamestop if you're looking for a good customer...
