Afishionados — Restaurant in Florence

Excellent seafood! The Mrs. & I visited in the evening when most of the mall was closed - and we found Afishionados to be just what one is looking for when one is in the mood for a good seafood dinner. She had the salmon, and I had the Captain's Platter. Both arrived in a timely manner, and both were very good. The breading on the fish and shrimp in the Captain's Platter was memorably tasty. Don't overlook this place just because it's in a mall! The food is a real value and ours was obviously prepared by someone who knows what he's doing. Delicious! The free samples (especially of the lobster salad and salmon sauce) were also appreciated! Oh yeah - they also sell a variety of fresh seafood, and if the sign we read is accurate. they will be glad to cook it for you on the spot! We didn't avail ourselves of this option, but...

Wow! First time here, excellent meal, everything made fresh after we ordered. We had the cod fish sandwich with Panko breading; itwas extremely crispy and crunchy, the bun appeared homemade, soft and tasted wonderful. The tartar sauce is very mild and did not overpower the fish. They have many fresh vegetables for side choices. Also had the fish taco salad, with delicious homemade pico. Our wonderfully attentive hostess took our order and the meals arrived quickly. The owner, John, stopped by and we chatted for a bit, delightful! What a great bunch of interesting, wonderful people. Excellent seafood at a really reasonable price. Got the cajun redfish and both my husband and I could have that every night of the week. The roasted potatoes and broccoli sides were great as well. We also got a fried shrimp meal with fried okra and brussel spouts. It all was also excellent- shrimp was huge and crunchy. We got sides of crab cakes and lobster bisque. We both thought the crab cakes were good and I liked the bisque but my husband wasn't a big fan of it. The only thing we would recommend against was the shrimp burger. It just wasn't that good- too bready and unremarkable. We are a family of 4 and ate for $50. We got 3 meals and 3 sides to share family style and we have food leftover. Not the Cajun...
