It's a beautiful spot to launch ur boat or sit and chill. Directly under the Palm city bridge on Monterey/Martin Downs blvd. I've been going there for years. There's a long boardwalk that extends about halfway under the bridge, lots of wildlife and some good fishing for sport. 8 gave it the 3 star rating because it's often littered with stuff that flies from traffic over the bridge...and even ppl at the park. It would definitely help if they would spring for more trash cans, as there aren't enough in convenient places. Also, the traffic isn't always peaceful. There is a beautiful walkway though to the south side of the park. It runs along side the soccer field and has benches if u are looking for a more quiet place. Plenty of room to walk dogs as well. Bathroom and playground area are maintained. This fork of the river is fairly shallow but it's great for paddling and rowing and even fishing but any large outboard craft would need to be captained by someone paying close attention. Entry into the park is no problem but upon leaving if you need to head West on Martin Downs make sure to turn left out of the parking lot onto Cornell then right onto 28th then right onto Mapp so that you come out to a traffic light at Martin Downs. Otherwise you'll have to turn East onto Martin Downs and cross the bridge before turning around...
Read moreThis is a small park with a convenient boat ramp. I've never launched a boat so I could not tell you everything for sure but looking at it from my point of view it is not as steep as others I've seen. There is not much parking for vehicles with boat trailers here because of the limited space. The park is well kept with one feature that stood out as unique, there is a walkway that goes all the way out to the boat underpass. To cross the bridge for a walk there are no crosswalks available on the south side and the North side is the only side of the bridge that has a pedestrian path with no crosswalks...
