Do not get me wrong, this is an amazing park. But I had to select one star in an attempt to make this review stand out. DO NOT COME HERE ALONE, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. A few months ago, I was laying at the end of the pier doing a late night picnic with my friend. A man had snuck a boat up on the dock below us. We had no idea, but he appeared out of nowhere and was taking pictures of me. We tried to stay calm and gathered our things but he had a huge Doberman that was being aggressive towards my friend. My friend grabbed all the heavy stuff and told me to run to the car. For the first time in all of my 8 years living here and visiting this park, the censored gate leading out of the parking lot was shut. It did not open when we pulled the car up to it. My friend ran out of the car to try and open the gate with his hands, because the man and his dog had been following us the whole time and were getting closer, but it wouldn’t budge. He looked over towards the censor and there was a rock, perfectly chiseled like a stake, that was jammed between the censor. My friend was finally able to kick it out of place and run back to the car, just as the man had unleashed the dog and said “go get ‘em boy”. We drove out of there so fast and called the police, but I’ve never heard anything else about it. After sharing this story with some people I’ve heard that there are many other encounters with strange activity too. But this was different, and beyond terrifying. Please keep yourselves and your kids safe. (Keep in mind this was at night, and the park is still a wonderful place to hangout with friends/family...
Read moreLived down the block from this cute park and loved having such close access to it! It has a boat ramp to the water and offers rental paddle boards even! Has clean bathrooms and what looks like an entertainment stage with a roof covering! Notice that lots of locals throw birthday parties for kids here and it’s a great idea! There’s lots of separated picnic tables with gazebos covering them. The playground is huge and offers slides and jumping gyms for all ages, has swings, slides, seesaw’s etc. equipment looks new. Park is clean and located in a beautiful area right next to the water!
** Also includes a long dock where people can sit with their chairs and even fish off the dock!
— Locals love to come & sit at one of the many donated memorial benches to watch the...
Read moreA local park with shelters, bbq areas and a playground for children. Shaded with lots of pine trees. Dogs allowed also. There is a pier that's nice to check out during the day but the noseums are very bad at sunset so you don't want to be there then or you'll have to run to get away from them! 🤣 There's not enough bug spray in this world to keep them away. They used to allow small boat access where the area is unpaved but they blocked it off years ago because the tide gets so low and high it gets very mucky with potholes and water. Wear water shoes if you plan to launch your kayak or...
