We went to OWA to eat lunch. I went years ago when it opened. It’s gone downhill and there wasn’t much open then. We entered the park off 59. We followed the signs all the way around. First all of your signs need to cleaned. We parked around back of all the stores. I thought it would be a nice walk. Everything looked run down. We looked at one of the maps, they were dirty, faded, mold and mildew. There are several bars on the restaurant section but few places to eat a meal. We went on a weekday and after Labor Day events. You would think things would be decorated beautifully. Not so much. Faded flags and some falling down!!! Plastic flowers in the planters were faded and just ugly. The walkways were covered in weeds & trash. The flower beds were lacking in flowers. The shrubs and trees needed to be trimmed. Has the grounds keeper heard of a pressure washer. The whole park needs to be done. As we drove by the water park out front. The outside waterslide tubes were faded or have a residue on them. A build up of algae on the waterslide tubes could be seen as you drove by. The outside garbage receptacles are dirty and also have a residue on them that Im sure would come off with a little cleaning. I hate to see this place go under. I can see why new businesses would choose a different location and why so many have closed. Somebody needs to get involved and make some changes. I no longer live in Foley but I do come visit often. It would be a shame to see this place...
Read moreI JUST NEED TO KNOW WHY THE SIGN STATES NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS BUT OWA HAS SHOPS AT THE ENTRANCE OF THEIR PROPERTY THAT SELLS FOOD AND DRINKS????? IT SHOULD SAY NO FOOD OR DRINKS EVEN THE ONES PURCHASED ON OUR PROPERTY!!!!!!! My kids went to the sweet tooth which is on their property which is called downtown owa but when we went to enter the amusement/waterpark they advised us that no outside food or drinks. I said it’s not it was purchased here on this property about 5 feet from this entrance. That’s when we was told to throw it away or we could not enter the park. What are you serious it was not purchased off the property and everyone knows how expensive little shops like that are. So I went to see a manager and that’s when I’m told that downtown owa is separate from the amusement/waterpark. I was not about to let my little ones money they earned go to waste and we couldn’t leave it in the car it was 100 degrees. So I went to the sweet tooth for a refund he said he needed a manager to approve and guess where he called THE WATERPARK!!!!!! The manager was at lunch and the sweet man allowed my girls to leave their candy for pick up...
Read moreVery reminiscent of Disney Springs. It's clean and visually appealing - architecture and landscaping. Could stand to have a bit more signage upon driving in. It seemed like we went from the middle of nowhere to theme park and with a few different entries and parking options it would help if the signs and google were more helpful in making parking decisions. The theme park seemed decent but we didn't go in. The only problem with the place was that most of the shops are empty! Only a couple restaurants and a couple shops! If it fills up (with appropriate and attractive options) it was be an awesome place!!! I thought it had to be new but one worker I asked said it's been around a few years like 3 or 4 which shocked me for how empty it was. The highlight was cinnabon! Get a map pamphlet from inside a store because there's coupons inside! I'd love to come back when it's...
