First let me say that I've eaten here in person several times. At first it was great....then good service began getting harder and harder to find. I usually have my pup with me so we sit outside. Bartenders are too busy chatting it up with folks at the bar to watch the tables they are assigned and most of the waitresses stay to the inside so you're kind of on your own outside. Just walk up to the bar to get your food/drink, it's a lot easier. Today I attempted to order delivery as I am stuck at work and was wanting some of their delicious food. After attempting to place an order through the website for about 15 minutes I got tired of getting the reject message that my customer servings time didn't match store timings, even though I never selected a time. So I called the business and a very friendly female bartender answered. She asked to put me on hold for a "few minutes" while she got a manager. Well that was 10 minutes ago and I've been on hold ever since. It's been at least 10 minutes and still on hold. Just like most things here in Foley, customer service goes out the window after the owners get lax about that constant money coming in.
Follow Up Finally talked to a "manager" who was admittedly new to the area and didn't know a lot about the restaurant he was at. Good news though, there is a more experienced manager floating between stores so maybe you will be fortunate enough to catch that experienced manager. This one didn't know if they delivered 5 miles away and cited that he only had one hostess and if she had to leave for a delivery that would place a burden on the inside staff. Sounds like a staffing issue to me. Don't offer delivery if you will only deliver to your parking lot and don't offer delivery if you aren't going to staff for it. Based on the steady decline in the last 9 months I will most likely never return nor will my family. Very disappointed in what used to be a great place that I...
Read moreWe went there on 10/21/17 and when we turned our name at the hostess desk we were told it would be 20-25 minute wait. We stepped back and counted no less than 10 empty tables throughout the restaurant. We couldn't figure out as to why there was a wait time when there were plenty of open tables. Other folks came in after us and the wait time continued to increase with each group (2- 10) didn't matter. Finally, another couple asked to speak to the manager but instead got a server who overheard him ask for a manager. According to the server they were way under staff that night and they were doing the best they can. First, it was not her place to comment about the issue. Second, we as customers don't care about the staffing issue, that should stay behind the scene. They couple left along numerous other potential customers. Another couple asked to speak a manager about the numerous empty tables but this time the manager did come up but gave lame excuse about having to help a server with their ticket. Did not address the questions nor offer any explanation. We hung in there and was finally seated.
The ONLY good thing we experienced was with our server - Jai. Jai was able to turn things around for us because of her great attitude and service. Because we had so much time waiting for a table we knew when we sat down what we wanted to eat and drink therefore were able to order as soon as Jai come to our table.
We had the table side nachos which were okay but nothing special. The chips came out with the melted (can) cheese sauce on them and then they added the toppings of choice.
We will give them another chance to impress us with there service and food but if it a repeat of what we experienced we will not be going back. As someone else stated - it would be a shame if they didn't make it because they are located...
Read moreI took my family to the OWA Park in Foley . I’m impressed . But that began to change when I chose to go to the Groovey Goat to eat with my family. There first were an issue of six seating in a booth. They told us only groups of ten are allowed . We were seated and we ordered our food and drinks. The waitress was great! Then 4 persons were set at a booth we felt we could get but we had 6 and were told no and the 4 were seated. We did not say anything other than to our group. What’s up with that. Then our food were served. As far as I’m knowing my groups food were ok . Mine However was NOT! I ordered Oysters Grilled. They came out latex a plate of pure Black roasted Cheese !!!! The oysters were curled up and totally black burned to the point you touched them with a fork it just crumbled. I do understand that something’s can go wrong in the kitchen. But the Quality control person should not allow ever for this to be placed in front of any customer and definitely not me. I’m speaking up and I’m speaking out …. I’m not going to tolerate not saying Anything so ….. I took the plate and confronted help at the front. She didn’t seem even the least concerned. I ask for a Manager I showed her she agreed and she did apologize but it were the fact that they brought out a for sure burned to the max charcoal meal to me . That did it for me. I left knowing I wouldn’t return to this place ever to eat. Once again our greeter was not so good but our waitress was very nice and after the service of getting mine delivered and the non caring of what had happened did it for me. I hope this honestly will help someone there re assure every plate sent to a table should be inspected before it hits the table before someone who has worked and saved to have a day out with family and have this happen to them and totally ruin a time...
