We made a credit card payment over the phone to Habitat Restore in Forest Grove for a large 30x60" Wooden Counter-cabinet for $275.00. when I came to pick it up with a 5x8 trailer, The thing weighed 300lb, and the employees loading it refused to use a dolly or take out the shelves inside when I asked. Instead they just shoved it up the ramp of the uhaul trailer, breaking off a corner slider foot. The entire 30" base panel along the bottom would need replaced as the leg screws tore off a pretty big chunk of it. Some of the sheet metal along the base bent and peeled as well, now the whole thing wobbles badly. My girlfriend went in to the store today, and the Manager told her the broken off leg was worth $10, and that she "would've paid more for the cabinet somewhere else." He then just gave her some scraps of wood to fix it ourselves. I'm not impressed with this store, anymore. The workers need to stop being lazy and use proper equipment for loading. We did not intend to pay $275 for a damaged item. It wasn't worth more than $100 in my opinion, and the workers loading definitely didn't treat it like it was worth more than $5, since we already...
Read moreCane here to donate my couch. Saw ABSOLUTELY NO signs saying I couldn't just drop it off. Clear signs that said drive through. Sat and waited for 5 minutes for someone to help me and no one did so I just simply dropped off my couch and left. I decided that I should go in and look inside of the actual store and one of the employees came out and told us we couldn't just drop off our couch and we had to get it approved acting as if we knew that. We did not. Took us to someone who told us he couldn't approve our couch because it was too dirty and that what we did was illegal. Acted as if we knew exactly what we were doing and that we were intentionally dumping stuff off against policy. Did not appreciate being treated like a criminal even though there are no signs that said we couldn't do what we did. Literally as we willingly followed this employee to have our couch approved another employee yelled "did you catch them". I thought everyone there was rude. Please update your signs. Will not...
Read moreEvery rime i go to forest grove habitat for humanity. I receive rude and bad service from the guys in back. EVERYTIME. Have been donating and purchasing items there for 5+ years since moving to forest grove thinking I have been participating in a community effort. NO MORE. Again I went to donate only to be rudely told " we won't take that item " even tho they sell this item on the floor. Went to the Beaverton store and it was a very pleasant experience. As a matter of fact everything about the Beaverton store is a wonderful experience. Their pricing is fair, unlike the Forest Grove store where prices on some items can be found cheaper at Home Depot. The pricing at Forest Grove feels being gouged on MANY items. I would suggest who's ever in charge of the Forest Grove store to SEND EVERYONE WHO WORKS AT THE FOREST GROVE STORE TO BEAVERTON FOR A TRAINING SESSION TO SHOW THEM HOW A COMMUNITY STORE...
