Black Rock Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Forest Grove

Stopped in on a whim and was so pleasantly surprised!

For years after Teavana closed down it’s free standing stores I’ve been on the hunt for a bright and refreshing iced tea that didn’t somehow taste watered down yet filled with a ton of sugar and artificial flavors, and finally my pursuit came to an end at Black Rock!

I ordered the Passion Fruit Strawberry Iced Green Tea With Dragon Fruit and it did not disappoint! Not only was it so delicious, it was really pretty too!

The atmosphere was super clean and inviting. Some people were using the table space to do some computer work, while others relaxed on the couch area. Overall cozy vibes if you are looking for a place to spend some time out of the house and either get some work done or just have a chat.

The staff were all really nice, and super on top of the flow. There’s a drive through (which is also great if you’re just passing through and don’t want to get out), and they were making it happen seamlessly with the drive through, making every drink ready to order and all equally as presentable and even though it was busy were polite, composed and even took the time to answer my questions at the register and never made me feel rushed.

Although I didn’t eat there, the food looked great and I definitely will be back to try it!

This isn’t a critique at all but one little thing I will throw in which is, the music that was playing when I came in was Eminem and although we all know Slim Shady has some real bops, the song that was playing was pretty aggressive and objectively controversial so it did feel a pretty out of place for the overall vibe.

Once the Eminem song ended and something more chill came on it did seem more fitting. That’s just my personal opinion though! No shade to anyone who was feeling the Eminem. I just wanted to point that out because I really do think BRCB is such a great place and don’t want people to be detoured by something as simple as music.

June 27 2019 1:30 pm I went through the drive-through at the Forest Grove Oregon Location to buy a smoothie and a $20 gift card. There were two vehicles in front of us, the truck left and that left one car in front of us. She was handed her order and the girl at the drive-through window continue to sit there and have a conversation with the car in front of us for about five minutes or longer. I asked out my window if they could please move their conversation to inside the store because I needed to get back to work. The lady at the drive-through window rolled her eyes at me and continued to have a conversation with the lady in front of us. When we pulled up she said I’m really sorry she was telling me that her husband just died. I said that is very sad however if she would like to have a conversation with you she needs to go inside the store and not do it through the drive-through. She said they were trained to be sympathetic to people in that situation which I understand but I shouldn’t have to sit in the drive-through while they have their conversation. This is upsetting and I don’t know if I will return to...

Visited forest grove Oregon location 10-19-23 1:00 pm and shift changed; while I was there a dark hair w beard man working there changed music from shift ended by 1:00pm. before 1:00 that I had requested different music (country).

It’s not that it’s the biggest deal I realize, however talking to customers in that way is so inappropriate and unprofessional !

I asked him if he would change back and he said no I like this music 🎶 !!, the music was terrible as I was doing my computer work.

…. I noted that customers should matter and he said I like this not changing. very very rude!!!

Let ‘em know that I would do a review, he said write all the reviews u want!!

I’ve been to this location before and was always welcoming and great svc.

Customers should matter too , just saying.

Hopefully some basic customer service training can help correct this in the nearing future.
