What to say?
I went here a lot from April 2014 to my last visit September 1 2014.
I tried this studio because it was close to my house and I was intrigued by American "hot vinyasa yoga" after having tried American vinyasa (not hot) at Bombay Yoga room. The hot made it feel as though you were getting a better workout than in a non heated room. The reality is you have to be able to work hard in the heat or there is no benefit over a non heated class.
So teachers I tried:
Jessica Steinlauf I generally enjoyed her class but she's second grade teacher in Sunrise in real life and you do get the feeling that her interaction with people as teacher is limited to children. She does seem to care about what she's doing genuinely
Danielle Petrie, very pretty girl obsessed with schlocky 80s music expect a lot of Christopher Cross in her class and she's a mommy so as her student expect to be treated like a child. The class is all about her
Kelly Green, wacking big green blob dragon tattoo on her, really off putting cant imagine what on earth possessed her. She channels Oprah Winfrey so expect sage advice in her class. The class is al about her
Erika Lima, I like her but they don't so she only teaches one class. My only guess is since she's older she's like looking in a mirror of their future selves (Paige, Kelly and Danielle) and they don't like what they see ...so try and find her class its buried 8am on a Sunday
Pam Butler her class literally made me nervous as she exudes being on the edge of panic..not a fun class. I needed a Xanax afterwards
Tamara Kenigsberg nice girl the only teacher to ever ask me my name of if I had any physical limitations. I do and did and she always said hello to me. I didn't much like her class she's just not in good shape and her class reflect that but very nice girl
Andrea Scarborough strange woman reminded me of a gym teacher from grammar school very very creepy. Took one class with her and avoided her there on out
Roberto Candelario very good teacher very good class challenging and different each time and the only instructor where it's not all about the instructor. He needs to get out of that place.
Kym Klien another wacking big blob dragon tattoo ...very weird. Took her class once and she did engage with the students which is unusual here
Nikki Holtzheuser very young very pretty and by far in the best shape of the ladies..likely due to her age guessing around 26. So her Friday afternoon class could and may very well be prerecorded...its exactly the same each time I took her class down to the "spontaneous" jokes eg: "that's why they call it the awkward pose people" Another one all about her...perhaps a pattern or example of leadership?
Paige Held very pretty girl with 4 kids and a doctor husband. Life has been very very good to her after having won the genetic lottery. She's the boss and you listen or get out..another mommy supervisor. I made the mistake of taking her class and doing push ups during vinaysa which annoyed her so she confronted me verbally in front of her class and told me push ups were a liability to Yoga Joint and then told me about how she was the owner, her husband was a doctor and she has 4 kids...nice life I wish you well Paige
So if you like drama, being treated like a child, with no personal attention unless you're willing to pay for it (seminars are extra $$ where they teach, classes you follow along and keep quiet) then by all means the Yoga Joint is for you. If you want to experience traditional yoga you can do for a lifetime go to the Yoga Warehouse or Mark Roberts class in Holiday Park.
Oh and the gorilla marketing campaign where they'll have your car towed unless unless you display a YJ sticker. One of the desk girls told me Kelly makes them call the towing company when she sees a car without a sticker, cute right? They made up a parking issue just to get their stickers on peoples cars.
Just too too much

Read moreAbsolutely blown away by my experience at The Yoga Joint—this place is not just a yoga studio, it’s a full-on sanctuary of strength, sweat, and soul. I’ve been to my fair share of yoga studios, but nothing—and I mean nothing—comes close to what Hayley and Brooke do here. Five stars doesn’t feel like enough.
From the moment you walk in, the vibe is immaculate. The space is clean, modern, and inviting, with just the right mix of zen and energy. You immediately feel like you’re in for something special. But what truly makes The Yoga Joint shine is the people—especially Hayley and Brooke. They are the heart and soul of this place, and their presence takes the experience to another level.
Let’s start with Hayley. Her classes are electric. She somehow manages to be both your biggest hype woman and your calm center in the storm. Her sequencing is next level—challenging but accessible, with intentional transitions and just the right amount of intensity. She’s got this intuitive sense for reading the room, knowing when to push, when to dial it back, and always reminding you to breathe, to be present, to feel. You can tell she lives and breathes this practice, and she brings that passion into every minute of every class.
And Brooke—where do I even begin? She’s the perfect balance of fierce and nurturing. Her energy is magnetic, and her classes have this grounded power that leaves you feeling both humbled and empowered. Brooke has a way of speaking directly to your soul without even trying. She weaves in these little gems of wisdom—nothing preachy, just real, raw, honest encouragement that sticks with you long after class ends. Her hands-on adjustments (if you’re into that) are thoughtful and transformative, and her music choices? Chef’s kiss.
Both Hayley and Brooke are masters at building community. They remember names, they check in, they see you—and in a world where we’re all just trying to feel a little more connected, that goes such a long way. They create a space that’s inclusive and empowering, where everyone from first-timers to seasoned yogis feel welcomed and challenged.
The overall experience at The Yoga Joint is dialed in. The heat is just right—enough to push you, detox you, and help you sink deeper into your practice, without ever feeling oppressive. The facilities are spotless, the mats and props are high-quality, and the staff are friendly, professional, and always happy to help.
But again, it’s Hayley and Brooke who keep me coming back. They don’t just teach yoga—they lead. They inspire. They’ve created a space where strength and softness can coexist, where you’re encouraged to grow, sweat, breathe, and just be. Every class feels like a gift, and I leave feeling stronger in my body and calmer in my mind.
If you’re even thinking about trying a class at The Yoga Joint, stop thinking and just go. Book a class with Hayley or Brooke—you’ll thank yourself later. This place is special, and...
Read moreAaagh, I almost don't want to review YJ because it's my best kept secret!! It has become my second home. The great atmosphere is why I keep coming back. The studio is so large, I never feel crowded. In fact, the room is so big with its high ceilings, I just melt into my mat and it feels like I could be in the middle of the ocean. It is so big! Very relaxing in there. The instructors are amazing people through and through. Many are wise beyond their years and are truly inspirational, not just in their yoga ability. I have made friendships here and I can see myself making more. For me, the studio is only as good as it's people. If the instructors, staff, or students have bad vibes, I'm out. Here I find a truly great atmosphere. I practice yoga to connect with my own vibrations and come back to centering myself in Christ. Most all of the instructors might give a little devotional after the final savasana, I love this. Their messages are always uplifting and I carry them with me. I LOVE Core45, cant miss it! and if the microphone or music is ever too loud I just let the instructor know and they are usually grateful if you say something to them because it can be hard for them to judge how loud their mic is. At the end of the day, there is union at this studio. We smile at eachother and make small talk, help out a friend or new commer, and encourage each others practice after class. YJ has gotten me out of a really bummy place in life and I am eternally grateful that I am blessed to be called a member of...
