I agree with other guest review this is over hyped by social influencer. To be fair, I'm not an expert of thia food. I do eat a good amount of southeast Asian food, cooked by friends I know. Usually the food I crave has automatic flavor and complex blend of many herbs. This completely lack that. With a long line sitting in the sun, very crowded atmosphere. Very chaotic atmosphere. Several times the wrong food came to us that was going to a different table. We had to ask several servers for refill on drinks that very slowly came. I'm Asain myself and have lived in Asian, I found some of the servers very difficult to communicate with, and short tempered when I was having difficulty understanding them. I generally do not do negative reviews, but the difference between the social influences and my experiences was completely opposite, and I feel compelled to review this as I experienced it. Spring rolls were OK actually, 3 small spring rolls for $5, I would do that again probably need two orders to satisfy my appetite for appetizer. We ordered the crab fried rice, which was decent I would eat this again without the rest of my experience. Drunken noodles was just OK, pad thai and that completely was bland, arguably the worst pad Thai I have had in florida. My mango sticky rice had very good rice, but the sauce was condensed milk, was slightly bitter, this dish is better with a higher quality sweet condensed milk with a touch of vanilla extract added.. generally my preferred south east Asian food would have lots of fresh herbs, and aromatic seasoning that take hours to prepare correctly. I would have no problem waiting an hour for that nor my bill for $140 with tip for the three of us. I know better places in florida dishes that are closer to what I was hoping this was, places that are less expensive, larger portions and no 1 hr waiting in sun outside. And no crazy chaotic atmosphere where I feel like someone is going to spill a dish on me. I'm not sure I would return. If I was driving by and there was zero line I would consider a second try perhaps with lower expectations..I also agree, south Florida needs an authentic south east Asian restaurant. Also last point I'll point out. Larb is a raw dish with meat, green onions, garlic, fish sauce, several different spicy peppers, cilantro. Lemon, and lime. The raw meat portion can be fish, beef, pork or other. This dish is dangerous to eat raw. Any fish even saltwater needs to be frozen for 1 week before it's safe to consume. Natives that consume raw larb that is not safely processed have high numbers of all sorts of internal parasites. Parasites that can increase chances of liver and kidney problems, gout, and some cancers. I was actually hoping they had a larb menu which I didn't notice. But I might have missed in the...
Read moreLarb Thai-Isan did not disappoint. I love a good Thai spot so when I heard about this place, I had to go. Even though it's not close. On top of it being on my places to check out list, I saw a popular food influencer post about it and everything he had looked amazing. We actually ended up getting 4 out of 5 items that he got and we were not disappointed.
We were staying in Fort Lauderdale for a staycation, and this spot was first on the list for lunch on a Friday afternoon. The place is so cute, very modern and very updated Thai restaurant vibes. We ordered a few different things, including the papaya salad, larb with minced chicken, bamboo and mushroom curry, coconut curry noodle, and of course, the mango sticky rice.
For drinks, a few of us got the Thai coffee, which was absolute perfection. It tastes very similar to a Vietnamese coffee, but it wasn't as strong and it was super smooth. Highly recommend.
Our favorite dish during this experience was hands-down the curry noodle soup which is called the Khao Soi (Chiangmai Noodle). Love the crunchy texture of the crispy fried noodles on top of the dish. The fresh boiled egg noodles absorbed the curry so well and the flavors of the soup was absolutely delicious. It was very broth-y and not thick which I liked. Broth has tons of flavor!
For the Larb, we ordered the minced chicken and it was good, but I wish we got the minced pork because I feel it would've tasted better with the pork. The Larb was not what I expected compared to dishes I've had in the past at different Thai restaurants. I think the pork would've been juicier and more flavorful.
Loved the papaya salad. We ordered it mild and it really still had a kick it. Which is fine by me because I love spicy. Very comparable to also a Vietnamese papaya salad, but with extra kick and so much flavor.
Bamboo curry with mushrooms was different. Also called Gang Nho Mai. It's a spicy bamboo curry made with yanang left extract and mushrooms. It was spicy, which was good but wish they served it with a side of noodles or rice. It felt more like a side dish, but it cost $15. Didn't seem worth it to me.
Let's talk about the highlight of the meal, which is obviously the mango sticky rice. One bite of this and heaven! The rice, coconut sauce and mango was so perfect in that first bite with flavors of everything together. We've had our fair share of mango sticky rice, but this is by far the best one we've had.
Service was good. Space was cool. Food and drinks were amazing! And pricing was fair. The restaurant is super clean and I love the decor. Will have to bring my husband or family here to try other dishes. Will...
Read moreIf I could give this restaurant, no stars, that’s what I would do. I didn’t even get to eat any food here after waiting two hours I put my name down for a party of four after driving 40 minutes to get there just to be so disappointed by the service. I wasted my time that I could’ve gone to another restaurant. I wasted my gas that I could’ve drove somewhere else my friend and I came after seeing this restaurant being so popular on TikTok and also seeing that it was on the Michelin guide tour. We had high expectations thinking that this restaurant was going to have good food and good service because if you’re on the Michelin guide , I would expect to have good service but that’s not what we received when we got there. We put our name down for a party of four after waiting two hours. We got a call that our table was ready and we got brought all the way into the back of the restaurant just to be seated at a table for two. then, after they were told that it was a party for four again, they put us back into the queue to be waiting again for another table. I went to the register to find out the time, and the lady was being so rude arguing back-and-forth with me after not even being accommodating trying to fix their mistake she just told me that we were sixth in line to be seated, and the manager was standing right there not even saying anything to her employee or not even trying to help the situation then once we were leaving, they wanted to bring us two complementary teas and remember it was a party of four not too. We didn’t even end up taking the tease because of how disappointed and disrespected we were after we left, we ended up going to another restaurant that was so much better we ended up getting called an hour later to be told that our table was ready so if I would’ve stayed, I would’ve been waiting a total of three hours. I highly do not recommend this restaurant. Do not waste your time. The service is not good. The people here are not nice. They are just money, hungry thieves they do not deserve to be on the...
