Read moreMy recent dining experience at Epazote Mexican Restaurant left me thoroughly dissatisfied and craving authentic Mexican cuisine. The lackluster flavors and absence of essential seasonings made me question whether the establishment was intentionally aiming for tasteless dishes. If you're seeking Mexican food with no flavor, look no further, as Epazote seems to have mastered the art of blandness.
I ordered the taquitos and tacos al pastor, hoping for a delicious blend of flavors and authentic Mexican spices. Unfortunately, what I received was nothing short of disappointing. The taquitos lacked any discernible taste, as if they had forgotten to add even a pinch of salt during the cooking process. I was left with a mere collection of dry, dull tortillas that failed to excite my taste buds in any way.
My hopes for redemption rested on the tacos al pastor, a classic Mexican dish known for its tantalizing flavors. However, Epazote managed to turn this renowned delight into a tasteless disaster. The meat lacked the characteristic seasoning and juicy tenderness that make tacos al pastor so memorable. It felt as though the restaurant had deliberately drained all the flavor out of this traditionally vibrant dish.
In my opinion, a Mexican restaurant should be a haven for bold and vibrant flavors, transporting diners to the heart of Mexico through their palate. Epazote, unfortunately, missed the mark entirely. Their food lacked the essential ingredients that give Mexican cuisine its identity and allure.
The overall dining experience at Epazote Mexican Restaurant was far from satisfying. It is disheartening to see a restaurant representing Mexican cuisine so poorly. If you're seeking a vibrant, flavorful Mexican meal, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. Epazote simply does not deliver on the promise of an authentic and memorable culinary journey.
In conclusion, if you're a fan of tasteless, uninspiring Mexican food, then Epazote Mexican Restaurant might be the ideal destination for you. However, for those seeking the true essence of Mexican cuisine, it's best to steer clear of this establishment and explore other options that prioritize flavor and...
Read moreI thought about whether I should write a review about my experience or not because they are a small family owned restaurant but I feel I should. My fiance and I ended up here after seeing a blogger rave about it. We love Mexican food and we were so excited to check it out. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. The frozen margaritas we were given tasted like a lime slushy with no flavor, not even sure there was alcohol in it. We decided to have the queso fundido with sausage but when it arrived, there was no sausage in it. We had to return it and have them provide us with another one. The cheese itself was not good, it was hard...hard to eat. We also ordered tortilla soup. The presentation was amazing and it looked so good. Unfortunately, it was not. It had no flavor at all, tasted like water. The shocking part was that from all the coloring in it, you would've thought it would be good but what a disappointment. At this point, we decided we were not going to order entrees and asked for our check. We did not eat the queso or the soup. When the waitress realized, she asked if we liked it and we were honest with her. She gave us the check for the full amount and we were ready to pay and leave. At that time, a woman at the cash register started asking the waitress questions as she saw our food was untouched. She came to our table and asked us what happened and we told her it was bland and had no flavor. She had the audacity to ask us if we have ever eaten Mexican food before. We moved from New York, we know what good food is. She did the items off of our bill without us asking so we did appreciate that.
Maybe we ordered the wrong items on the menu but this not a place I would recommend to anyone. What bothers me most is that a lot of reviews mention the owner/chef coming to the tables and introducing himself etc., but unfortunately that was not the case for us. He saw our plates go untouched and asked the waitress what happened and he did nothing. He turned it back and continued making drinks. Very disappointed and will not be...
