You really learn a lot about a business when something goes wrong, and today I had a terrible experience at Sabal Palm 6. Today our waitress gave me another customer's credit card, and gave mine to somebody else. That was just the end of several issues- she never brought us all of our order, and the drinks she brought us were completely incorrect. (We ordered two shots, plus an iced tea and a Sprite. The shots were poured into the the iced tea and Spite!) This was bad enough, but what is really inexcusable was how management handled the situation. They did Nothing!! First, it is impossible to reach a person at the theater over the phone. Even if you listen through all of the movies and times, the message cuts off before it gives you the customer service number to call. Inexcusable. Since the issue was serious, considering a stranger has my credit card, my wife and I were forced to drive the 20 minutes all the way back to the theater to speak to a manager. I explained to the person behind register what happenedt- that in the dark theater, the waitress gave me back the wrong card. (Obviously we wanted their help contacting the other patron and swapping the cards.) The man at the front went back to the kitchen to get the "General Manager." The same guy came back minutes later and said that the General Manager was "too busy." Too busy! That kind of neglect is inexcusable. Isn't any manager's first duty to handle customer service issues, especially when they've mishandled two credit cards? Since he or she was too busy today, maybe someone at Touchstar will pick up the phone when I call them on Monday.
As you can see below, I've said good things about this theater, but when something goes wrong, that is when you really see what you're dealing with.
I don't normally go to movie theaters because I hate the crowds but soon as I discovered Sabal Palm I loved it. My wife and I have gone to two or three movies a week for the last couple weeks. The movie theater is clean the staff is very helpful and the recliners are very comfortable. I don't care how much it costs I love the idea reserving seats so you don't have to get in a panic to get there early. The food and beverage service in the theater is very good. I have only a couple of minor criticisms: I think they should expand the food menu, they should add sweet tea to the beverage list, and they need to improve the quality of their desserts. They do serve some good quality liquor which I also appreciate. The problem though is when you drink good liquor out of a very cheap plastic cup it doesn't taste very good. I'd also like to suggest that they start carrying the Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey which is my favorite. Overall I give the movie theater a 5-star review because it's a great night out with the wife to know you have good seats and to be able to enjoy dinner and a drink in a clean, safe, well managed atmosphere. Honestly I'd probably pay...
Read moreExcited that they have opened back up. Clean and sanitized theaters and menus. Went midday and only 1 other couple there in our theater. Intimate setting. Glad they were able to open back up. Staff practiced safety precautions and service was great.
Update - our first time ever coming in the evening - this theater is now under new management. So disappointing. No longer get popcorn (which is now $7.99) with your ticket , the theater smelled horrible and was stuffy, the neighboring theaters were so loud and distracting, land the “manager” at the front actually checked my purse with a flashlight 🔦 I had cough drops and an unopened bag of sunflower seeds that I forgot about and she said it was not allowed and considered as “food”. Even though I was not going to eat them I had to take them back to my car. The bag checking was a complete catch off guard. My husband asked when they started and she said she’s been here a year. Lies, we’ve been her since then and the bag checking is new. I ve never been asked to open my bag so someone could go through it with a flashlight. Maybe if the concession food didn’t suck and wasn’t so expensive you wouldn’t have to check bags for food being brought in. What’s next you gonna make people empty their pockets and lift up their shirts to make sure nothing is being “snuck in” as they claimed?!?
The server was still a nice girl and provided good service. That’s the ONLY plus to this last visit. She mentioned that many of our complaints are common. I’m not surprised. These last few visits have been ever changing. If AMC wasn’t as horrible we’d start going there. It’s sad we can’t get good quality experiences from movie theaters here.
New Update: My husband is native to Fort Pierce and has fond memories of this place so that is the only reason I would ever agree to come back. So we did to see the new Bad Boys movie. Still poor service. They were severely understaffed at 10:45 in the morning. Then we had to go out and order our own food and drinks. I had to tell the young lady at the bar twice to not put her fingers in my cup when handing it to me and she just couldn't understand why I was telling that to her. This is basic etiquette. I explained it very politely that she just handled my money and now handed me my cup with her dirty fingers inside and I'm expected to drink out of that cup. She looked initially looked dumbfounded but immediately got an attitude, rolled her eyes and went to "talk" to another employee who was standing around laughing with 2 others. So really they were not short staffed, just the manager, who was the same lady who I encountered last time didn't know how to manage her staff. This was not a teen either, this was an adult. Good help is hard to find, but will be the downfall for...
