This is a wonderful place for criminals and drug dealers alike. As soon as a new person arrives directly from prison they are offered drugs of all kinds, practically guaranteeing recitivism and the ensuring that there is always a need for this facility. The offenders already living here are hardly ever subjected to searches, making the possession, sale of, and trade for, drugs alcohol and cigarettes abundant and lucrative. while they are given urine drug screens, they are told when to expect them, and those tests are easily and often fooled by using diluted coffee. while I understand that it is each person's individual responsibility to govern themselves and to adhere to the rules of their parol, there are many people with no other option but to utilze a place like this to get back on thier feet after incarceration. I feel that places like this have a duty to give those under thier supervision/care at least a chance at maintaining their sobriety while there. The people I know that have been unfortunate enough to stay here describe it as basically being a government ran trap house or drug den and feel they never stood a chance at staying clean and turning thier life around. With only one vending machine that only has ice cream, its easier to get meth than a snack here, and you dont need to worry about a snack if you never want to eat. I just wanted my family back but thanks to the fort worth Transitional center and their complete lack of actual oversight, we are torn apart again since i wont allow anyone in my home that isnt sober. it breaks my heart though. I really think they tried, but as an addict you can only say no so many times when drugs are easily accessible and right in front of you. do the workers not notice that everyone is super sweaty at 5am breakfast? clean that place up or...
Read moreThis is a terrible place for reintegration into society. They try to sustain people as inmates and some of the staff will go so far as to call you inmate as if by name, even though these people are no longer incarcerated. They continue to use your prison number as a means of identification. They literally do nothing to help you actually become a well functioning member of society. They leave you to it and you either sink or swim. The place is bug and drug infested. See the profile picture? That's what breakfast looks like on the weekends, in which they don't even feed you lunch or anything in between. Food is not allowed to be brought in. Staff will take it and most likely keep it for themselves or throw it away, which is worse. They have made it very difficult for you to leave this place. You have to prove you have appointments for anything and everything. On top of all these ridiculous rules, and not providing any help or support in anything, if and when you get a job they expect you to pay 25% of your gross income. Everything I've mentioned is only the beginning of what is wrong with this place. There is much much more. The place honestly needs to be shut down and condemned. If you wind up here please try to get to a different place immediately as this is a place designed to...
Read moreThe place is a prison without razor wire. They hold back our mail. We must file a request 2 weeks in advance to go anywhere. We can go shopping only once a week. We cannot order food in. Our meals are prepared by jail trustees and delivered here. The menu never changes. It is owned & operated by Core Civic, which owns prisons (& am failing at it). I anxiously look forward to the day I can leave here. There are four to six men crowded into each room. There are no TVs or phones in the rooms. There are no locks on the doors of the rooms or bathrooms. There is no ice machine. I could go on & on. I'm quite sure I'll be labelled as just another lying convict, but I am posting this anyway. I wouldn't be here if the Parole Board hadn't ordered me here. Taking photos is against the rules, otherwise I would post photos of this decrepit,...
