I really wanted to enjoy this BBQ place. My husband is a bit of a BBQ snob and eats it quite often. He typically knows where to go for the good stuff. Since we were in the area, I convinced him to give it a try based on all the reviews. I wish I would have snapped a photo before I ate for reference in my review, but unfortunately I didn't. Let me first start by saying the brisket was very tender. But there wasn't enough of it on the plate to really taste it. My husband and I both got the two meat plate with brisket and sausage. We each got two pieces of brisket not bigger than the palm of my hand. Half of each piece were fat and had to be cut away. We also had a total of 5 pieces of jalapeño cheese sausage. The price is comparable to other restaurants for a two meat plate, but the amount of meat was thoroughly underwhelming. I had the spicy slaw and potato salad. The spicy slaw was decent, but I wasn't really a fan of the potato salad. My husband had the Mac n cheese. It had a Velveeta vibe. Overall, it wasn't the worst BBQ I've ever had, but certainly not the best. And it certainly was not worth almost $50 for two people. I don't always write reviews for restaurants, but I believe that if restaurants want to improve then they should be able to equip themselves with positive and not so...

From the moment I walked up, the customer service was outstanding. The team made us feel welcomed and genuinely valued, not just as customers, but as people. The young lady at the register (Katherine I think) was patient and kind, especially as I stood there indecisively trying to figure out what to order. You could tell they cared, not just about getting food out, but about the experience they were creating.
But here’s the kicker: as amazing as their service was, the food was even better. And that’s saying a lot because the service was top-notch. Every bite was full of flavor, perfectly smoked, seasoned, and cooked with obvious love and skill Ross poured in. How do you manage to have food that’s better than five-star service? Smoke and Bone pulls it off effortlessly.
Whether you’re there for the food or the atmosphere (or both), you’ll walk away feeling full, in every sense of the word. Can’t...
Read moreIt’s really unfortunate that a place with such good food is run by such an unreliable and dishonest owner. My mother throws a party every year for the Kentucky derby , and brings a food truck or local vendor to do the food. She secured Smoke and Bone well ahead of time to cater the event and even advertised their name and achievements on her invitations. At first the owner was communicative and acted excited for the event. All of a sudden he went radio silent - weeks of unanswered texts and calls, leading up to a week out from the event and still no response. She has had to scramble for a new vendor and send out amended invitations. I’m really ashamed of the behavior of Smoke and Bone’s ownership, and believe that no matter how good the food, behavior like this always catches up...
