Owner Response Update: It was a debit card not a credit card. Owner stating “there is nothing we can do about it as it’s a problem with the card/bank” is a lie. On 5/2/25 I used the same debit card with a purchase of $12.71, that I attempted to use 6/12/25 when the incident happened. There was an initial “Pin Blocked” (not “Card Blocked”) message which only requires a bypass - something I tried to tell the cashier, and I could have easily paid for my plants and went on with my day. It wasn’t a “trick” - as the owner so kindly referred to it as, it’s technology. It’s how card readers work.
Trying to make it out to be an issue with my bank, or subtly suggesting my credit card was declined by saying, “She runs thousands of credit cards every week- Occasionally, when that message is displayed you can try to run the card again and it goes through. In this case, she tried it 3 times and it didn't work”, when it was a debit card and not a credit card seems to go against your brand of “spread some kindness, patience, and understanding into the world.”
Again, 5/2/25 I used the same debit card as I attempted to during the incident and it was successful. The owner trying to make this out like an issue with my debit card is a misdirect. Some people are trying their best, and some just don’t want to admit fault, take accountability and try to do better! :)
Read moreWe took our 1 year old granddaughter to see the children's corn maze. I thought charging $7.00 for a 1 year old was too much for the tiny, poorly made maze. It's not really even an actual corn maze. It's a bunch of old burlap bags that they have hanging on fences that make the sides of the maze. It takes you about a minute to walk through the entire maze of old dirty burlap bags. They also have an area where they have thrown a bunch of deer corn on the ground for kids to play in kind of like a sand box structure. There are also a couple of plastic slides that can only be accessed by climbing a bunch of slippery hay bails. Since the prices of their garden supplies are much, much higher than you would pay at either Lowes or Home Depot, they should really be offering the maze for free in the hopes that it would attract customers to look around and possibly buy some of their overpriced items. There were zero other customers anywhere to be seen when we were there. If you are looking for a real corn maze, this...
Read moreI would say this is an enormous complex with multiple green houses and the main cabin where you pay in the front. I went really early in the April spring season and there still was a great selection to pick from post-frost! The plant maturity was a factor in price which I prefer instead of small plants that need months to grow. I now want to buy local instead of feeding the corporate cash cows (Lowe’s, Home Depo) when it comes to plants. BUY LOCAL! Support your small businesses and buy native flowers! Pollinators are still in danger.
There’s also examples of water features. I did want to do one day when I do buy a house. Renters can have a “patio pond”which I have been researching lately and they definitely have everything you need for aquatic gardens. And much more including bulk materials...
