My friend and I visited on a Wednesday around noon--this was a first time visit for both of us. The place was pretty busy and our wait for a table was around 10 minutes, but that was just from our watch as no one acknowledged us when we walked in.
We were finally seated and given menus by a nice gentleman. I was excited to see they had a Muffuletta on the menu as I they are hard to find in the area. A few minutes later our server, Natalie, comes over with two waters and asks us if we wanted to order other drinks. I ordered a Banana Macchiato and my friend ordered Iced Tea. Our drinks were brought over by another lady. We then didn't see our server for at least 15 minutes. When she finally came to our table, she apologized and took our order--I ordered the Muffuletta with no swiss cheese (it comes with swiss and provolone) and my friend ordered the falafel Bahn Mi. Food took at least 25 minutes to come out. My Muffuletta had NO cheese. We also had no napkins or utensils. When Natalie finally came back to the table, I brought this to her attention. She apologized and said she must've mistakenly told the kitchen no cheese, instead of no SWISS cheese. She said she would take it off of the bill. Ok, fine. The sandwich was decent as was the falafel. Then she brought napkins and no utensils. SMH
When we got our bill there were no prices for our drinks--but the drinks seemed to be added to food price (at least my friend's was-see pic). My friend's Bahn Mi was listed as $14 on the menu but the receipt lists $17. And she didn't take my sandwich off, she took her employee discount of 25% off???
Our server was just terrible and the way she finagled the receipt was unprofessional. We...
Read moreWe have eaten here many times and the food is amazing and unique, as well as the service. We recently did new years eve take out from canning house via powerhouse and the person on the phone was more than helpful. However I just used grocer collective and was very frustrated. I only used it to support them because they gave me a coupon when I purchased from them in the summer and I want to support local. I placed my order online for store pickup and never received any updates after over a week. I called and a kind girl said that she wasnt sure about grocer collective but her manager would call me back shortly. I never got a call back for 2 days. So I called them and they said it will be ready on Saturday and they will include extras for it taking so long. I called to say I was unable to make it Saturday and will be there on Monday and they said they will have it there on Monday. I come on Monday and the very nice girl asks who I assume is the manager and they have no idea what im talking about and its not ready. I was able to pick the kombucha that I wanted from their case which I have no problem with. However, they were not the flavors I ordered online and I got no extras as they told me, which I understand that they were not obligated to do. Every time I called about this order the people were very nice, yet were not familiar with the program and put me on hold for a while. Kind of disappointed but we will definitely go back for dining in. The people at the pick grab snd go area are very...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer here for years, but unfortunately, the overall quality has noticeably declined. The food, which once felt thoughtfully prepared and well-balanced, now seems inconsistent at best. While the service has never been the restaurant’s strongest point, I’ve always tried to be understanding—especially as someone who works in the industry and knows how demanding it can be. However, during my recent visits, the restaurant has been nearly empty, which makes the lack of attentiveness increasingly difficult to justify.
Most recently, I dined with a few acquaintances and the experience was unusually disappointing. The tomato soup, which is typically garnished with croutons, was served plain, and when we politely asked our server, Sab, if we could have the croutons added, they never arrived. I eventually had to go ask someone at the counter myself. In response, the server made a dismissive comment to the food runner, saying “it was just soup”—which, while technically true, didn’t reflect the level of care or hospitality one might expect, especially when dining out.
To add to that, there was an unexpected upcharge just to get a small side of syrup for my waffle, and the lemonade was first overly sour, then far too sweet after an attempted fix. It’s a shame because this place used to be a reliable favorite of mine. Now, it feels more like a shadow of what it once was. I truly hope things turn around, but sadly, the recent visits have left me more disappointed...
