Since this is a tubing hill that competes with the other right next to it (my dad enjoys swerving between the two roads that lead to each one (where two people with signs for each one stand (their talent varies)) before choosing to see what the people will do) and since I've been to both I'm just going to tell you what this one has that the other doesn't. 1.Tends to have better sign twirler 2. Top of the hill parking, so you will always end with an escalator ride to top, (more info on Colorado Adventure Park review) personally a -- for me. 3. Hook tube escalator = no effort until you end at the bottom of icy stairs, but the escalator itself ends with a fun hill moment. 4. Drop off hills like cliffs (there's a picture that shows what I mean). 5. No organization or regulation on the hills, go whenever and dodge incoming tubes (I find that rather fun actually). 6. Porta potty bathrooms and I can't remember if CAP has bathrooms at all so if not that's a +. 7. You will be tired after going here, even the energetic child, more walking distance and stairs are killer. 8. Usually go farther down the hill than at CAP, so fun ride down long walk back. 9. Two escalators for both sides of the hill, but the better one won't work most of the times. 10. Better hill staff, as in there're people who are at the bottom of the hill for escalator (CAP doesn't need because of type of escalator), and one that stand in the middle of the bottom, so it's easier to ask someone to hop on the snowmobile and grab something that fell...
Read moreIf you are wondering whether to choose Fraser Tubing Hill, Colorado Adventure Park, or the Coca-Cola Tubing Hill at the Winter Park Resort, I would say to go with the Fraser Tubing Hill. Fraser offers an hour and a half time slot which is the perfect amount of time. It is the same Hill over and over again at all three so an hour half is plenty of time. (FYI, the attendants will not mind if you stay longer, if you really want to. They didn't seem to care...I went at the end of March during spring break and there were not a lot of people there). You have to buy two hours at Colorado Adventure Park. 1 hour is too little time.
The Fraser Tubing Hill was safe and simple. Not too many rules and a lot of workers there to guide your children and keep them safe.
From my observation of all three hills the Fraser Tubing Hill is the steepest and my children loved it. Colorado Adventure Park is similar in size and length but it appears to be not as steep. Also, getting back up to the top appears to be the same amount of time at all three even though they use different methods. I also heard from a local that you have to make reservations at the Coca-Cola Tubing Hill in Winter Park because it is not very large. There are four lanes that are not very steep and curved around to offer a little thrill at the Tubing Hill in Winter Park. Of course, if you want to get as many runs in as possible I would recommend going during the weekdays and not during common sense peak season such as the week after Christmas. I...
Read more5 star for tubing, ZERO for check-in and organization. This place won't get by on its old-school charm much longer if changes aren't made and would make an excellent Six Sigma project. They need to update their office and check-in procedures or customers WILL go to the hill next door. We drove in for the day and got there around 11:30 am on Dec. 29th, 2016 and the lines were already out the door. I understand the weather was perfect and it was winter break for families but the disorganization was disheartening. 1. People coming in and leaving through the same area, mass traffic jam. 2. Management wanted to squeeze in as many as possible into the office/warming area but caused confusion as to whether you were still in line or not. 3. No expectation set to what I needed to do to get a tube: waivers handed out willy-nilly, when to pay? purpose of putting name on legal pad? Many systems, none working efficiently. 4. Tube numbers being called out loudly--was one my number and I had no idea??? again, so confusing...5. Should one person from family wait in line or do you all need to be there? 6. Claustrophobia!!! 7. People started paying for tubes and made me worry if I didn't pay, I'd get out of line, but that had nothing to do with it. 7. If i had known I'd be waiting over an hour, I may have chosen to go next door.8. One lady told us that if you made a big stink about getting your tube , you'd get one faster!??Really?? Once we finally got our tubes, it was a blast and we got many rides...
