20230904 wow! They are allowing 2 bottles of Buffola Trace Bourbon per visit now! The irish cream is $21.99 and in VA it is $19.99, I was told. If I like it, going to use it to make brownies, I will get it from the VA ABC store. While in line at check out, there was a bundle with a travel size Irish Cream amd a bottle if Freddie's root beer. 😱 I'm going to try that combo!! Going to do dome shopping on my way home. The prices at the store is a lot better. The sauces, salsa, coffee, caramel, etc, all under $10. Online they were $13. I'm going to stock up!!! When I stop by on my way home. 202207 This place has so much history. Unfortunately, I'm not interested in history like I should. I came here yesterday and today, but today, I actually walked around the grounds. It's interesting that the first thing I noticed was the buildings were dark in color, and have an industrial look and feel. When I got out of the car, the first thing I notice was the aroma of the bourbon, but it smelled like old bourbon aroma from the barrel? It's smelled ok but an experience to have. My favorite part is seeing how the roll the barrels around, and the garden was nice to take a walk in. There are 2 Buffalo sculptures, one is to the left of the gift shop and the other is in the garden near the big lodge.

Went to Buffalo Trace distillery at 8:00 AM. I was surprised there were already cars in line waiting. There are two directions to enter the visitors parking lot. The lot doesn’t open until 8:30 AM. Tours start at 9:00 AM. The waiting line started as soon as the cars parked, so don’t wait in your car or you will be behind a long line waiting to get the arm band. Once you show your license you get your arm band to purchase bourbon and items from the gift shop. The gift shop is a short walk from the check in building. Most people in line were not there for tours. FYI If you are taking a tour you get pulled out of the long line to a shorter line at the check in building entrance.

We did the Old Taylor Tour on NYE! It was amazing! Daryl, our tour guide, was phenomenal. His love for the brand, the history, and overall excitement for bourbon was contagious & made the tour that much better. The tour wasn't like other tours. It was rich in history, which was fascinating. The grounds are stunning as well. If you plan on visiting, book your tours in advance. If you just want to enter the gift shop for bourbon, get there early. They do sell out & once it is gone, it's gone for the day. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
