Icon Popcorn — Attraction in Franklin

I went to Music City Popcorn yesterday for the first time in quite a while. As soon as I walked in, I noticed a huge change, starting with the fact that it is no longer Music City popcorn, but is now called City Popcorn. One more beloved part of Music City lost. I am sad to say that the change in management is not an improvement in any way. When you walk in, it’s a stark, cold room with a few shelves that hold a very limited selection of popcorn flavors. The board that used to show all the available flavors is gone and there’s not even a list to look at so you can make a choice. The girl informed me I would have to look at what was available on the shelves, which was maybe eight flavors. I don’t know if you have the ability to taste any of the flavors anymore since the board is gone, and the girl who was working did not offer. So I looked at the bags on the shelves and decided to go with my tried and true Tennessee Gold. Since I don’t live nearby anymore, I bought the largest bag available. When I got home, I immediately opened the bag excited to have the popcorn that I hadn’t had in so long. With my first bite, I knew what the girl had told me, “same popcorn, nothing has changed”, was NOT true. The popcorn did not taste anything at all like the Tennessee Gold Music City popcorn used to make. It’s supposed to taste like a caramel cheddar blend. I don’t even know how to describe what it tasted like, but I can assure you cheddar and caramel would not be in the description. In fact, it was so bad I ended up throwing the whole bag out Because I live too far away now to drive back and return it. I am beyond disappointed with the changes. Music City popcorn was always a very sweet place for me to go. I used to take my kids there when they were little. I don’t recommend and I doubt...
