I am extremely disappointed in my visit today with Ombré Nails. I came in as a walk in around 1:30 with no one else waiting, and told the lady up front I just needed to remove my gel acrylics and get a manicure (no polish) just to clean my nails up and get them back to normal. I sat there and waited 30 minutes but didn’t complain at all or think twice about it, because I did come as a walk in, and know that they have appointments to prioritize. That’s fine. They finally bring me back after about 30 minutes and the same lady from up front begins clipping down my acrylics (a very normal process before soaking them in acetone) but isn’t paying attention (literally looking in an opposite direction) and pops the acrylic right off my nail. If you’ve ever had acrylics, you know how bad this hurts. I expressed it hurt, she apologized, we move on, all is well. She then tells me to soak my fingers in a bowl of acetone and begins working on another lady who’s getting a fresh set of acrylics and came in after I did. I figured I should go first because I’m there for a much shorter service, but again, don’t complain. She literally left me there for 30 minutes soaking in acetone to the point the skin around my thumbs is still peeling.
I kept making eye contact with her as she’s doing this woman’s acrylics and she never acknowledges me, just keeps working on the other women (who, keep in mind, came in after me). After sitting there for so long and having my skin start to burn, I take my hands out of the acetone bowl and just sit there waiting politely. It literally got to the point another nail tech had to come by and remind them I was waiting, because no one acknowledged me. Not to ask if I wanted a drink, not to say hi, not even to tell me they’d be with me momentarily. Another ten minutes goes by they finally assign a completely different nail tech to me, who was shaking so badly she scratched multiple fingers on the cuticle line and I now have three different fingers burning from the small cuts she left. She ended up tearing my pinky nail from filing it so roughly, and I told her multiple times she was being too rough, to which she just kept going. She didn’t even try to make conversation, so it was awkward silence while I sat there trying not to cry. Then she goes to rub my arms with lotion (as they customarily do) whilst still wearing her latex gloves that are covered in the dust from cleaning/removing my acrylics, so she was just rubbing lotion and dust onto my arms. They offered to take $5 off my bill which was thoughtful, but I would’ve preferred a genuine apology. The original lady literally kept staring at me and my new nail tech and I was definitely ignored the entire time. Neglect like this worries me because it makes me wonder what kind of procedures they aren’t following, because I know 30 minutes in acetone is definitely not healthy. As someone who use to work in legal, I was advised to take this to small claims court and report them to the health department, which may be smart as the lady who was leaving (as I was originally walking in) was complaining about a fungal infection growing on her toe, that she suspected them of giving her.
I have never left a bad review and told myself I’d never be that person, but I had to sit in the car and call my mom while crying after because I genuinely felt bullied here. 0/10, will only ever come...
Read moreMy family and I have been going to ombré for years, there have been several different families take ownership since we started getting nails done here. Ana was our favorite, so sweet and very efficient. Unfortunately, the new ownership has made sure to drive us away. Monday, my sister went for a dip full set. Simple, you’d think. She picked out her color and the nail tech sat down and asked for the color. The nail tech made a disgusted face and suggested another color. My sister went with it, whenever the dip was done she thought it blended in with her skin so she asked if they could add some sparkles (glitter gel polish would’ve been an easy fix.) The nail tech was up in arms about my sister not loving the color. She let my sister know she remembered her and our family and how we always have a problem. The owner came over to see what was going on and the nail tech told him that someone needed to take over for her and that she never wanted to be assigned to my sister in the future. My sister was in the salon for over 2 hours for a solid color dip set and was disrespected the whole time. Last week, I got my nails done for a special occasion (I’m a college student so it’s a huge treat when I can get them done.) The service was painful and I tried to strike conversation with my tech and was ignored. No problem, I didn’t go to socialize. I had requested dip with a pattern on top. They concluded acrylic would be easier for the design so I agreed. After he painted the base coat I decided I liked the color so much I’d pass on the pattern and get a simple chrome. He, very quickly, rubbed glitter on each nail to where there was the tiniest hint of chrome. I then find out that this set costs $90. I have never paid over $70 for even a pattern. I was extremely upset because they were so thick and wavy, but I didn’t want to say anything because I felt bad. The nails were extremely weak and ended up popping off within a week. I called because i was in from out of town and I no longer am in town. The owner gave me his phone number and said to send him a picture of my hand. He responded and said theres nothing he can do if I can’t come in within two weeks. Their policy is that they don’t do refunds under any circumstances. I understand a policy is a policy. So I requested a voucher for when I’m in town over the holidays. He instantly called me from his personal number and yelled at me for a minute straight about the policy and eventually ended up telling me I was lying because the guy who did my nails is the best they have and it’s not possible all my nails popped off. I had to interject and ask if I could speak because I understood the policy and he proceeded to interrupt me after I began talking. After 2 and a half minute of this I simply said okay you won’t get our business and hung up. I am not a child I do not need to be lectured, especially by a nail technician… 3 minutes later he texted me a repeat of the policy and continued to hound on me. When has it ever been acceptable to speak to customers like this, my sister and I both work in the service industry and do our best to not inconvenience other service employees. I know there is a point where you want to scream at a customer but we have never caused a big enough issue to be...

I wanted to love this nail salon but my second visit was absolutely awful.
I’d give the first visit 4 stars. I wanted a mani/pedi with dip powder on fingernails. Really liked my nail colors. Lady who greeted me was very nice. Nail techs did a nice job overall. First time getting dip powder and they look nice. I have sensitive/thin cuticles and I always have to pre-warn nail techs about that. Still nicked my cuticles but it was subtle. I had asked for a full mani but the mani ended up being only the dip powder service (with the “mani” portion actually being the drill used to clean up cuticles etc - I had been expecting a traditional mani but I took ownership of that, I could have asked more questions). The salon felt a little dirty as well but overall I was happy.
Second visit was 1 star. I was stressed the entire visit. Still got a friendly greet when I arrived. Was only their for dip powder (no mani/pedi). The nail tech was just VERY ROUGH. I pre-warned her and also had to pull my hand back multiple times throughout the service. She nicked my cuticles in 4 different places with no apologies. She just kept pulling my hand back into place and continued on. She seemed like she was just rushing through the experience. My nails were grinded down so much that the dip powder ended up cracking all the way across on half my nails about a week later. I normally like to use a nail visit to relax but I was tense the entire time.
Unfortunately I won’t be back. I think if you can handle a little rougher approach it’s probably a great place to go on the regular. I need a nail tech that can be a little more gentle and can take care to soak off the dip vs grind it off.
Note: Pic is from 1st visit (great shape and color, only a couple very small...
