Altstadt Brewery isn’t just a grand brewery modeled like a castle—it also hides one of the most unexpectedly delightful attractions on its grounds: a tractor museum. Housed in what appears to be a beautifully restored and modernized hangar, the museum features floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light, giving it a polished yet rustic feel. It’s immediately clear that this place was created with both charm and attention to detail.
Inside, the museum showcases a fascinating collection of historic tractors—many of them early steam-powered and gasoline models that tell the story of American agricultural evolution. What makes this space truly engaging is the mix of full-size vintage tractors and smaller toy replicas, giving it broad appeal to both adults and children. In fact, the museum originally began as a toy collection, and that playful spirit still shines through.
Admission is free, which is a rarity these days, and there’s even a bar located inside the museum. It’s a clever touch that lets visitors enjoy a beer while wandering through machinery history. We were visiting with kids, and they absolutely loved it. The sheer variety of vehicles, the open layout, and the friendly atmosphere made it a highlight of our day.
Altstadt Brewery is already worth a visit for its main offerings—beer tastings, beautiful grounds, and a rich ambiance—but this museum adds another layer of charm. Whether you’re a tractor enthusiast, a family looking for something unique, or just someone who enjoys well-thought-out spaces, the Tractor Museum...
Read moreSo the tractor museum is literally a small shed with a few tractors inside, nothing to write home about or cream your pants over. even though it was Easter weekend and a fabled tourist town. This place was practically empty. Beer was subpar and the food was something of that my kids would have been contacted if they were to be left home alone with just hot dogs and macaroni to fend for themselves. My wife and I were recommended this restaurant by the owners of the bed-and-breakfast we were staying in and to be completely honest this place did not live up to the hype. If I were you i’d recommend maybe stopping in to try their home brewed beers nothing more than that. Food was abysmal. The vibes were decent at the end of the day. This isn’t something that you should have at the top of your to do list while visiting...

Even during dinner when we took him out because he was throwing a fit he was welcomed by the chef and allowed to watch safety in...
