My husband and I love to visit "winery's" in our Texas hill country! Our visit to Messina Hof was the first time and it was quite nice. Most of the employees were good with the exception of the man that was in charge of our "tastings". This gentleman, while not rude, had a very dry personality. We are seasoned wine drinkers and enjoy trying new wines from different establishments. My husband paid for 3 tastings for the both of us to make sure we got to experience several. Honestly speaking, I was ready to leave after this man poured the third sampling. He gave very bad attitude in a job that should be very "customer driven! He even walked away without excusing himself! He just left us standing there!!! Thank goodness that another young man, J.R.Sanchez noticed we were just standing there with empty wine glasses! He was charming and answered all our questions. Truly, a real "people person"! Thanks to J.R., we decided to purchase at least one bottle of wine, even after being upset at being ignored by the other mid-aged, dark haired, man! I mentioned to J.R. of our treatment and he apologised for the ill treatment of his fellow worker. I'm sorry that I did not enjoy the varieties of the wine we sampled. My husband and I thought that they were much too young and needed maturing. We did buy a very nice port at the suggestion of J.R., so we could age in our cellar, but in truth, we just felt compelled to purchase a token "something", because of J.R.'s professional attention to us. I was also impressed with him when I offered to tip him alone only. We are generous tippers when we are given good service. He gave me explained how the "tip jar" works well, for all involved. He made it sound like such a great thing to be making money even on his day off, due to the structure of dividing all the tips, as one large pot that is divided evenly. Our hats off to your company, at having an exemplary, employee such as J.R. Sanchez. He saved the day with his professional demeanor and attention to customer service! Bravo! *Oh and 2 stars off because of the "rude treatment" by the...
Read moreUpdate: Amazing customer service! Perla at the Hill Country location was extremely helpful and accommodating! She reached out to me the same night I was having issues and worked with the Bryan TX location to offer a full refund within 48 hours. Also offered a complimentary wine tasting and tour where she would personally lead us through the vineyard to taste the grapes before they are harvested! All in all, she went above and beyond and did everything in her power to correct the situation. Not to mention, she was super sweet and accommodating on the phone about answering any questions I had and was able to update our party size for the visit no problem. It’s amazing to know that people like her still exist in the world and we’re all super existed to visit! Website is purposely misleading. Completely ruined my Fredericksburg trip. Bought 8 tickets for the harvest festival only to find out the tickets are for the Bryan TX location 3 hours away when hotel and other bookings are all in Fredericksburg. Website allows you to click on the Hill Country Location in which all following prompts to purchase are complexly void of location (thus emphasizing it must be the hill country location you clicked). Every step of the way tries to trick you (ie. Prominently listing all harvest types with the words “hill country harvest festival” besides it). The fact that all harvests take place in Bryan Texas with the exception of the Sept 1-2 harvest is hidden in fine print. I am unenthusiastic about the prospect of getting a refund and the expectant failure of management to take any correcting action. However, I will update if they decide to do the right thing and refund the amount vs. stealing close to $400 when there is ample notice, time, and ability to authorize a refund given the event is still a month away. No refunds for the tickets are emphasized. Now I understand why. I feel extremely scammed and taken advantage by such a money...
Read moreUnfortunately my group of 4 were instantly upset with our first impression. We were not greeted. When we were helped it was Spreesa Wright who came to take our order. We wanted to know if we could have a glass about 15 minutes before they closed. Now I understand that we came in right before close BUT they had more people waiting to get in behind us and a good amount of people in their dinning area. Spreesa was being quick with us and said well do yall know what yall want? But hadn’t even asked us if we had ever visited before and didn’t provide us with a menu. i told her I didn’t know what they had and then Spreesa gave us a menu. We were made to order there and pay there, which if it’s their process that’s fine BUT it seemed unkind and rushed. We went to the bar and got our drinks. Later a nice gentleman was leaving and gave us a token.. we assumed it was a token for a glass of wine. My friend instantly took it to the bar to cash it in and again Spreessa was rude throughout the interaction. My friend wanted to turn in the token for a glass of wine but Spreessa rudely said if I give you a glass I’ll have to charge you for it this is for tasting. My friend said okay well then can I get the tasting and she said yeah your the one with the token and tossed it aside pretty hard. There was no kindness from Spreessa. I hope Spreesa has a better day after...
