Very disappointed in how much this gym has gone down-hill. My biggest frustration is the Machines Not Working/Being Out of Order for Months. This is not acceptable. There are numerous Treadmills in the last row that have Inclines that don't work at all or the Machine itself does not turn on at all and it's been this way for months!
Secondly, the gym is filthy. The machines need to be deep cleaned. I have seen workers wipe down the bottom base of the machine, but that's not even important, you should be cleaning the top and front of the machines, the fan area ( that area is filled with mold/mildew/bacteria that will come straight into my nose and mouth when the fan is on ), this is more of a health hazard than you cleaning the bottom based of the treadmill.
What is the excuse for not fixing the machines?
There are TV's in front of the elliptical that do not work and 1 that has been frozen for months with the same image of a man on there. Would love to know where the remotes are/watch actual TV with a TV that works.
Also, what happened to the disinfectant sprays? I have to push on a button a million times to get some small amount of disinfectant spray to come out to wipe down the nasty machines.
The Sauna has been out for weeks on end, with no real idea of when it will be back.
There are signs in the bathroom telling customers to pick up after themselves and that it is a reflection of us if the gym is nasty, lol. Whoever wrote this is very immature. I understand some people are not hygienic and on the nasty side- but you are going to have those type of customers especially with the high homeless population ( there are many homeless people that live in their cars that come here, there's many cars filled with garbage in the parking lot ) that frequent here.
At the end of the day: The gym and the employees, management have to find a resolution and you can't blame the people- that's on YOU to fix and clean thing's not the customer's. Instead of hiring immature young high-schoolers to work here, hire older people with good work ethic, customer service, and have a desire to walk around more, clean up, etc. than just sit there on...
Read moreI have been in the fitness industry for over a decade. I've been a personal trainer and a coach for many different gyms and workout facilities. This gym is by far the most unsanitary and unkempt gymbI've ever been to. Dust bunnies run rampant around this gym and it seems as though the staff is blissfully ignorant to the need for cleaning properly.
If you happen to visit this facility any time past mid day, not only will you be overcome with the amount of people, which is typical to any commercial gym, you will be met with 5-10 shirtless highschool boys who don't seem to have any sort of respect for the other paying members. I watched as a group of 3 shirtless boys used a bench for 20 minutes, laying down with their sweaty backs, just to walk away without sanitizing it. I had to stop the next member, a older woman, from using the machine and kindly wiped it down for her explaining what I saw.
The front desk staff at night does not enforce any kind of hygiene or fitness apparel policy. I observed the girl at the front desk casually leaning back scrolling Instagram while upstair was a complete madhouse.
I understand that a 24 hour gym has a huge population but it is the responsibility of the staff to make sure that everyone feels welcome and safe.
Imagine an older couple touring the gym for the first time only to see a gym floor covered in dust, so much that the fire alarm has a 2inch pile on it, young boys walking around shirtless flexing in the mirrors, and a front desk staff that is completely oblivious to the going s on of the facility.
I only go to this gym because it is one of 2 in my area but I hope that in reading this message, someone that works at this facility will take action and improve the conditions for...
Read moreI am so happy that this facility is open again and that they are taking extreme precautions to keep everyone safe in this age of covid-19.
I work out with Shahid, a master trainer, and he is extremely knowledgeable and great at communicating and explaining the moves and exercises he wants me to do. If I have difficulty with an exercise, he gives me a tip to help me master it, and if one tip doesn't make the difference for me, he figures out another one! He's extremely patient and encouraging.
I think this is a very good club and the two trainers I have used here have been fabulous. Everyone is helpful and friendly. **Three years later, January 2024, and I just want to reiterate that I am still training with Shahid and still extremely pleased with the Auto Mall 24 Hour Fitness!
7/3/2024: I would like to add that I am still enjoying this 24-hour location. The only additional comment I have is that some of the people here refuse to pick up after themselves. They go to a clean, litter-free station and leave all of their used paper towels or whatever on the floor at the station instead of picking them up and putting them in the trash. This also goes for the people who remove equipment from its shelf and then leave it at some station on the floor, refusing to put it back for others to be able to use.
I have always found the staff to be extremely respectful, helpful and kind. I see several of them constantly picking up trash off the floor, and replacing weights where they belong.
The only negative I can say about this facility is that they have removed access to paper towels, which in the case of increasing COVID in our area, are very necessary to be able to clean...
