Enriquez Creations, Talavera & Imports — Attraction in Fremont

As beautiful as the store is, buyer beware. I recently bought several items from this store including 6 gorgeous Talavera mugs. All covered in lead. Upon calling the store, the man who answered told me he doesn’t guarantee the safety of any of his products nor the lead content and that he doesn’t trust any of his supplier’s word in regards to the safety of the products he buys and later resells from them. I asked if there was any way to get the info of his suppliers so I can ask if all their products are manufactured with lead, to which the answer I received was “if you already tested them & they have lead, you don’t need to know about the supplier.”

I know Talavera always carries the risk of containing lead as it was common practice to manufacture these pieces with lead stoneware and glazes decades ago, however I hope this store at least warns their buyers that these products could contain lead. I can only imagine the effects constant exposure and particle consumption could have if a child were to be eating/drinking out of these products consistently as they are pieces designed for use.

I don’t think I can trust a store that doesn’t trust their own suppliers. If you do plan on buying something, perhaps bring a lead...

My sister-in-law and I visited this beautiful store a couple of weeks ago. My sister-in-law was looking for the Talavera 2 inch tiles to place around her steps in her garden. I purchased the same tiles on Amazon and Enriquez Creations were cheaper. They have the most beautiful planters, kitchen ware, outdoor and indoor decorations all made of beautiful pottery. Part of the fun shopping here was interacting with the owner and her daughter. I highly recommend this place as the prices were great and the owners were willing to go the extra mile to help. Definitely will be heading back...

I have purchased two bedroom end tables and a tall dresser drawer. I am very pleased with the quality and they are what I was looking for.
