My parents live right around the corner from here so I have fond memories of it from growing up. I still remember the year they were constructing the sand pits for excercise. They would be teaming with tadpoles in the spring, but as summer neared and the water would recede, you could literally scoop up cupfulls of tadpoles at a time. That year, my brother and I became witnesses to tadpole cannibalism; but we also raised some to full maturity, and we even held a funeral for one in our front yard: Egyptian style--the ritual of which would have pleased even Tutankhamun. What I like most about this park are the pull up and dip bar stations (perfect pitstop for your neighborhood runs), and how amazing the north slope along Paseo Padre looks in the spring time; the whole slope explodes in a flurry of yellow from the custard plants. I really love that the park serves the community so well too. Whenever I'm here, I'll see families and people at all stages of life, going for walks or playing with their dogs, playing basketball or just picnicking. I've seen some more questionable things here late at night too. Like the one time some kids starting doing donuts with their cars in the basketball court, and when the cops were called in, they tried driving OVER the hill on the Paseo Padre side and got their car stuck! Just insane. Good and questionable though, I love this park...

On my brief visit to walk for several mins before riding in the car for awhile, the Park appeared well kept and enjoyed by a group of young men and women playing basketball and having fun, and by middle to senior age women, with or without dogs, walking diligently throughout over the gentle hills.

Yes, there are bathrooms near the parking lot and right next to the basketball court.

With the view of the bigger hills on the border of the park and open space, the Park reminds more of an East Bay Regional Park rather than a city park.

Partially for my physical state and chronic pain, I was somewhat disappointed when arriving for the following: -Many of the sidewalks within short distance of the parking lot seemed to have an incline to it, including to get to the playground and a picnic area. -Limited shade over the sidewalk. -Full side swing set to just barely fit an adult at the playground. Swings are a nice place to relax and have some...

This is a great neighbourhood park! Accessibility and planning within the play areas could be improved. There’s two play areas, one for younger toddlers on the lower part of the hill and a more extensive one for older kids. However, currently there’s only a staircase connecting them directly. You can see where the hillside is extensively warn from people pushing strollers up along the grass/ dirt, but it’s quite a steep slope. If you have a wheelchair or stroller and want to go to the upper area safely, you need to leave the smaller kids area, walk past the washroom facilities, the basketball court (awesome they have this too) and go the long way to the hill. There’s also a good amount of parking and a picnic area at the top of the big hill with shade. Great park but can definitely use improvements from an accessibility point so it can be bettered...

Beautiful small park with plenty of picnic tables , kids play area and basketball courts as well as green belt for sun bath and relaxation.. there are small trail around the park and beautiful mission peak and bear area views. There is small belt of yellow flowers which will give you glimpse of DDLJ movie . Around 5 miles of Sabercat trail around the area and fun part for kids and adults. There are plenty of free parking. Overall it's a nice place to spend relaxing time with friends and family.
