My wife and I have stayed here quite a few times, usually for a week or two-weekly spells. The first time we stayed here the maid came every day. The second time, the maid came once during the week. Our most recent stay is when the problems have surfaced.||We are usually given a disabled room for $350/week (we are not disabled.) On arrival this time, it became apparent that our usual room was not available and we would be given an upgrade: a two-bedroom/bath suite instead. The manager said she would not charge us extra for the upgrade as they were fully booked that week and she had reserved the bigger room for us. However, she encouraged us to add on a maid service for the bigger suite and that it would be an extra $30. We explained that we could do without the maid service as we could probably survive the week without it. She became insistent, telling us how many hundreds of dollars more this two-room suite normally costs and seemed quite bitter that we were getting this room at a discounted rate. Having driven for eight hours in the pouring rain, we were not in the mood for arguing about hidden charges or quibbling about the price of a stay that had been pre-agreed. We politely repeated that maid service was not necessary and made our way to the suite. As it turned out, having two rooms was a benison, as I had been suffering from the flu for several weeks and I could keep myself in quarantine. ||Despite the manager insisting that there are no students in this hotel, wide-open doors along the corridors display half-naked Koreans geeking out in front of their computers. There are obviously people living here, a ghetto element is creeping in with people shouting at each other outside their rooms and disturbing the peace at night and early in the mornings.||Midway through the week, while we were out working, a maid came in and serviced our room which we weren’t expecting.||On check-out, as we presented the manager with a box of chocolates as a Christmas gift and a thank-you for giving us a nice room, she again insisted that we pay an extra $30 charge for maid service (for the cost of “changing the linens for two rooms.”) She patronized us by telling us that we were tired when we arrived and didn’t properly understand the arrangement concerning the maid service and using both rooms. We were not in the mood to end our stay amidst bitter recriminations so we paid up when of course we should have told her to get stuffed. We are just too polite for our own good.||We have seen this time and time again – a business builds up a good reputation, establishes a base of loyal customers, then through a combination of greed and stupidity presses the self-destruct button and alienates its best customers. For the sake of a measly thirty bucks we have left this hotel with a nasty taste in our mouths and will not return. By our estimation we would have stayed here twice next year netting the proprietor at least $700. Now that money will be going...
Read moreThis was my first stay here and I stayed for 5 nights. In all my previous visits to Fremont, I was staying in the Hampton Inn but this time around, since the latter was booked out, I had to choose this Property.||||My initial reaction to this property was fraught with a bit of caution given the lack of esthetics, the age of the property and lack of it's upkeep. Mission Peak lodge, surely requires a huge uplift/makeover if it needs to attract business travelers.||||It was also a huge downgrade for me given my past stays in the Hampton Inn. However, the manager of the Property, Amy, who seems to be a workaholic, is always around to care of the guests needs. Amy's hospitality was surely one of the Highlights of my stay in Mission Peak Lodge. The shower in my bathroom wasn't working to its full capacity and within a few hours of my bringing it to Amy's attention, she got it replaced with a new one. ||||I am enlisting the pluses and minuses of my recent stay here :|| ||Pluses : 1) Round the clock service provided by Amy & her team ||2) Excellent location with banks ie BOA, groceries and diners (incl Subway) , all available within walking distance||3) A very spacious room with a small kitchenette to do minimal cooking||4) This property's housekeeping team too is pretty awesome as try to keep the room in a spock and span condition. ||||Minuses : 1) Bathroom essentials need to improve especially the size of the soaps, which are ridiculously small||2) The crockery provided in the kitchenette is extremely outdated. Need to improve this ASAP||3) The refrigerator in my room was making a loud noise every now and then and this too needs to addressed ASAP and finally||4) The pricing of this property was ridiculously high given that I was paying just 15 % more for the...
Read moreI have been traveling for business and pleasure for over 40 years I have stayed in thousands of hotels from the most expensive to the lowest on the totem pole. This one has to rank as the most abusive. I ostayed for two nights in what should have been an out of service room and the manager absolutely refused to change rooms.| The shower head was defective and dumped a solid stream of lukewarm water. The AC/Heater unit did not even have both knobs on the controls and there was no way to control the temperature. The small television was on top of the refrigerator with most channels blocked out from lack of subscription.| There was no couch or even comfortable chair in the main room where the TV was located. The only chairs were cold and hard metal or a straight back formal chair. There was no TV in the bedroom so no place to relax to enjoy the programs. The microwave was dirty with a putrid odor that blended with the food I cooked.| I was placed in a handicapped room even though I am not disabled with a webcam invading my privacy. When I tried to discuss these issues with the manager, she literally yelled over my words ignoring my requests to change rooms. There was such a lack of respect in every interaction I had it pushed my blood pressure through the ceiling.| I requested a king studio which was a downgrade from the room I was in but was refused. I continually told the management how uncomfortable I was and how the room should have been out of service, to deaf ears.| I have never had employees from a hotel continually yell at me like the manager did. I was quiet, respectful and clean.| It could have been a nice stay if the manager would have moved me to an acceptable room and treated me...
