When I drop my son off at school, we see this restaurant as it is directly across the street from the school. He and I are Ramen enthusiasts so we've been eyeballing it for a while now. Decided to pick him up from school where normally he would take a bus home just so we could try this place out. The restaurant entrance is on a submerged floor off a ramp and stairs. The entrance was a little odd to find and parking is in the back. When we came up to the place, we discovered that there was no dine in, so we made our order and proceeded to walk the street since thee order would take about 15 minutes. The photos you see here are for the to go experience. It was well packaged and did not spill on the ride home. After assembling it together, I sat down for the meal. I ordered the spicy Shumi Ramen because I go for anything on a menu that has a chilli next to the name. #fireeaters yah! This ramen is just ok. All the ingredients are solid. The noodles are a bit on the harder dense side, at least in our sitting but this is neither good nor bad. Stating it for those who have a preference. The broth was fine, but somewhat, plain. I want to be careful here because I am not dinging the restaurant and a sample set of 1 is not something you should overly judge an establishment for unless it is a notable problem. The one lingering impression I had coming off the meal was that it was deceptively thin looking when I put it together. Like there was not much to it. But it is one of the most dense Ramens I have ever had and walked away feeling stuffed. I checked with my son who can typically eat far more than me and he agreed that it made him feel really full. I am giving this 3 stars and would go back and try again but the experience did not leave me with a sense of the soup and noodle's character. At the same time, I would not talk anyone down if they wanted to try it...
Read moreWas planning on sitting here and eating my meal but several factors ruined it for me When taking my order I wasn’t asked if I’d like my ramen spicy or not which wouldn’t be a problem but when I asked afterwards if I could have it spicy I was told once it’s made there’s no way they could make it spicy or remake it for me . If that’s the case wouldn’t you sky every customer when purchasing if they would like it spicy if it couldn’t be adjusted . 2nd when taking my boba order they didn’t ask what sweetness flavor I’d like , which i also don’t understand when the default sweetness is 25% , I wasn’t given the option to have it sweet . Ended up taking my food and drink to go since there’s no way they can adjust anything...
Read moreOverall very clean place. Decent portion sizes. The ramen itself was okay: the black garlic oil miso ramen was a bit too greasy as was the pork that came in both that one as well as the classic ramen. A bit pricey for what you get, but it comes with a good amount of noodles. Something to consider: it costs extra to add any amount of spicy level + extra for any toppings. $.75 for level 1, $1.50 for level 2, and $2 for level 3. We got level 1 for the black garlic ramen and it was mild. We got level 2 spicy for the classic ramen and it was a good amount of spicy-ness. Toppings included in the price were 2 slices of pork, some sort of bamboo shoot type things (very good), half an egg, some mushrooms, and...
