Short and Sweet purchase from professionals at Premiere Subaru in Fremont. As a single senior, with my only relative 50 miles away and carless herself, I was not in a position to, gather repair estimates for the car to be traded in or have the car sold to CarMax first, then buy a replacement later. In one short week from a shocking repair quote exceeding trade-in value for my 12 yr old Mazda3 with only 70,000 miles, I decided it's time to part ways with my Mazda3 and Mazda, and banked on going back to Subaru for my truly very last car, the 2024 CrossTrek - 4WD, higher ride and higher lights with better visibility, equipped with driving assistive technology that my age has come to need, and the cargo space of a subcompact hatchback/SUV still, that will continue to see me through self moves of potted plants, hauling IKEA furniture home for self-assembly, and to HomeDepot/Walmart for container gardening supplies, not to mention tripping to National Parks and winter chalets with my dog and only relative. The Fremont Auto Mall on Cushing is better located than most, even accessible by two modes of public transport from home.
In less than 5 business days, I decided Subaru is it from internet research and phone calls alone, the CrossTrek reminiscent of the family's Outback used to it's last mile for ski-trips in New England but the CrossTrek is better scaled for this petite senior. Premiere Subaru was the dealer of choice for its Internet Sales department. I have moved a bit in the Bay Area, do not have family or friends that could have helped me drive to CarMax again to capitalize on its appraisal, then swing a quick purchase at a reliable dealer nearby who wouldn't waste my time or change his/her mind that my old car wasn't worth the CarMax appraisal. Premier Subaru simply gave the best below MSRP over the phone, and actually matched CarMax's appraisal, had even offered home delivery, without my need to make an in-person appointment for a hot and heavy sales pitch of any or all models in the showroom.
So logistics wise, I did not have to walk along auto malls from dealer to dealer, or get a taxi or Uber home after all, should the sales person be shifty, the test drives or internet research do not bear out. Then I even had a free roundtrip by Lyft, from Premiere to a long-overdue Optometrist appointment, while my new CrossTrek had a preventive coating applied. My only parking spot in my senior apartment's lot is under a sap-dripping tree.
A huge ride replacement problem solved for a senior relatively new to California, with its 6 lane highways (and even 6-lane street that my apartment is on) and car-dependent infrastructure, After just 7 days, following the Mazda service, I am home in a new CrossTrek with 5-star safety, all thanks to Premiere Subaru's seamless team work and coordination from Internet Sales, to Customer Relations, Finance and Tech/Service without any hype, without me trudging along an automall, without waiting for the bus or train I have yet to try in San Jose, or between Santa Clara and Alameda County. I was game, have a clipper card ready to go, but Premiere Subaru wouldn't have me inconvenienced one bit. And I never had to walk to the nearest CarMax somewhere behind the Fremont dealerships as seen in my GPS.
Adding to my review of Premier Subaru in Fremont within first 2500 miles or 3 months of ownership. It offered me a first complimentary car service even before the first 6000 mile or 6th month. What a treat! I went in for a free car wash, had the wheels aligned, EyeSight checked, and I helped myself to the snack bar. I must say, it's marketing, service and customer service departments are aggressive for all the right reasons! When this dealership says free or complimentary multi-point inspection, take it seriously. Nope it did not try to hit me up for a $3000 to $6000 job like another Brand's dealers in both states (CT then CA) I most recently lived in did. $0 out of pocket. And it knows not to do the LOF prematurely then charge me for waste disposal fees and oil. Shame on dealers in...
Read moreI just purchased a New 2023 WRX from premier Subaru of Fremont. My over-all experience was great to satisfactory. Trey was my point of contact. He was very responsive from the moment I first called Premier Subaru. He provided excellent customer service all the way through the whole purchasing experience. Lucky, my finance manager was very informative, and throughly explained everything I was signing during the purchasing process. It is important for me to feel comfortable and good about my purchase. Lucky did not pressure me nor try to trick me into any sales packages. I appreciate that. Premier Subaru was open to negotiating and price matching. I felt like I got a good deal on my purchase. Premier Subaru was open to any questions about the vehicle. They provided folllow-up calls to make sure I understand everything on my new car. In the end I was happy with my purchase and remained excited about driving my new WRX home that day.
So, why am I rating premier Subaru 3 stars and not 5 stars? Because my overall experience was satisfactory, It was not “perfect.” I feel like there was a little bit of trickery to get me to their lot. I knew exactly what I wanted when I first called the dealer. From my contact with Premier Subaru. We agreed that if the car I wanted was sold off before the date I was going to be there. They would contact me. But, they failed to do that(I live over 100 miles away from Premier Subaru). Fortunately, we were able to negotiate a deal on another WRX. There was a second issue, there payment process. Premier Subaru will only process up to $3000 on debit. If You plan to deposit or purchase more than $3k. You will have to do the rest by check. It was extremely inconvenient because it was a Sunday; and Premier Subaru was not open to mail-in check. I had to drive all the way back on a week day within 4 days to hand them a check for the rest of my deposit. Lastly, I guess this one can be a little of my own fault. On the day of purchasing my WRX from Premier Subaru. The car was throughly cleaned before it was handed to me; and I was allowed to check the car before I took it home. But I missed to see a little bit of damage on my WRX at the dealer. I didn’t recognize the damage until I got home. This was not damage as a scratch or from a rock. The plastic molding front lip of the WRX had a small indentation that could have only been done if another vehicle had backed into it, or someone parked the car up against a small structure that bent it. Enough to leave a small bent indentation. I’m sure whomever cleaned the WRX at the dealer knew the damage was there. However, I missed it on the last walk through. So...
Read morePurchased a used 2020 BRZ sight unseen (mostly but had a friend look at it in person before I purchased). Due to the fact it was the color / spec I've been looking for.
Flew out an uber and signed for it. then proceeded to drive 400 miles home with it.
Zobair was great to deal with but everything falls apart post sale.
First off I signed an option contract that was improperly filled out and took a few days to get sorted. Not a big deal human error it happens.
Before purchase of the vehicle, I've inquired about the condition of the car. Had my friend look at it. Had a light amount of wear and tear. Which I was okay with. and was mechanically mint!
However, I asked the salesman regarding the windshield. If it was ever replaced. He said it was original. I have bad luck with aftermarket windshields in the past. I didn't even notice it was an aftermarket replacement windshield til I get home. This was just the tip of the iceberg.
When originally inquiring about said vehicle the car has the original michelin tires on it. When I showed up, the vehicle had new yokohama tires on it. (Great! I wouldn't have to worry about replacing tires so soon!).
When I was driving the car home I noticed a slight grinding sound on the Right side of the vehicle. Didn't really bother me as I drove thru the middle of the night. Til the morning of where I was contacted by my local bank saying some errors on paperwork had to be fixed. Which as I said earlier had been resloved. But, this is when the next morning I drive the car out of my local mcdonalds and hear an insane clunk noise on the right side of the vehicle. Brushed it off and drove to a friends mechanic shop, Where he discovered the FR Wheel was not torqued properly, The RR Wheel has a stripped Lug Nut / Stud. AND BOTH RIGHT FRONT AND REAR BREMBO BRAKE CALIPERS WERE LOOSE. Causing the brake pads to grind down fast and having to be replaced, Which were then repaired on the spot..
I wonder what would have happened if the wheels flew off on my 400 mile drive home...
I wish I could leave 5 stars which wouldve been the case. If I wasn't given a car with loose wheels / brakes. And was told being honestly told the windshield had been previously replaced.
I understand I bought the car "as-is" but I expect better from purchasing and paying a mild premium for a subaru from a subaru dealership.
If they would cover a new windshield and the brake pads, this will be a 5...
