UMe | Tea & Snacks — Restaurant in Fremont

Went last night to get a sweet treat. Ordered the “Uji Strawberry Matcha Latte” with oat milk. When I saw the drink come out I realized it comes with matcha ice cream, which isn’t specified on the digital menu, I thought I accidentally added ice cream but realized that is how the drink comes. This might be a communication issue but I try to ask for a new drink without ice cream and try to emphasize I cannot have dairy (I am lactose intolerant). The employee proceeds to take a spoon and scoop out the ice cream and fill it with milk (unsure if oat) and gives it back to me. I don’t think he understood what I meant and I don’t know if he put dairy milk or oat so I just ask for entirely different drink, (brown sugar boba) with oat milk. I watch him make the drink with whole milk and ask again if it’s oat and I’m told it’s whole milk. It was so frustrating that I take the original drink and leave unsure if it’s still have whole milk because well…I paid for something. I normally love UMe tea, but the lack of understanding of someone’s medical condition is frustrating and disappointing. Perhaps a miscommunication or misunderstanding but still very frustrating and...

My friend and I placed two separate orders on Fantuan Takeout because there were coupons available. When the staff checked, they said they hadn’t received my order but had received my friend’s. After answering our questions, the staff member just went back to making drinks. I thought I just needed to wait a few minutes, but after 20 minutes, nothing had changed. When I asked again, I got the same response. They hadn’t even started making my friend’s drink and didn’t try to get anyone else to help me with my issue.

I had already paid on the platform, and it showed that the restaurant had prepared my order. I asked another staff member, but I got the same response, and then they just ignored me and went back to making drinks. They had absolutely no intention of solving the problem and just left me standing there. In the end, I stood there for half an hour while everyone else got their drinks and left, but they still ignored me.

They made me stand there like a fool. Even the drink from the order they did receive wasn’t made. Terrible...

New UMe Tea at Fremont! The grand opening was today (3/15/25) and the line was very long. It was a little less than an hour wait with the line shown on the photo. There are multiple popcorn chicken flavors which change the toppings added. This is a great spot for a pit stop for hanging out with large groups but there aren't many seats to linger around too long. There are outlets at the long white seats in your phone is in need of a boost and also a restroom if you need a break yourself. There are grand opening deals that last for a few days, but there will probably be a long wait like today. The drinks are great and the popcorn chicken is juicy and more chicken than popcorn (more meat!). Great spot with some loud kpop playing to...
