Joie's Art Studio — Attraction in Frisco

My two children and I both took art lessons from Joie. Joie is a great art teacher - teaching the basics so that an art student can really excel at drawing and painting Joie is also very insightful and teaches very personally, figuring out what is each student's unique gifts and talents. For my son who was in kindergarten when he took art classes, he really looked forward to her classes where he made sculptures and mosaic "hungry caterpillar." My daughter was in late elementary school when she started classes. She learned the basics of drawing and took lesson throughout middle school. Though she stopped taking lessons from Joie, what she has learned has helped her with her current projects in creating a graphic novel for her college classes. I also took an adult art class with Joie. In this adult class we were all different levels but we all enjoyed the class. I am actually very proud of my works that I created in this class, especially my chalk drawing on black paper of a calla lily - something I would've never done had it not been for Joie and her adult art class. Joie is an incredible artist and teacher. With over 20 years of experience instructing students of all ages, she has created a truly unique curriculum. She helps students uncover their talents and flourish as artists. She taught all three of my children, introducing them to the wonderful world of art. Through various projects, they were always inspired to embrace the process and express creativity in art. I had the opportunity to take an adult class with her. Having never received formal art lessons before, I was amazed at my progress. Within year and half, with her encouragement, I completed several watercolor painting projects, won some art awards, and participated in two group art exhibits with my classmates. My kids absolutely love their art classes at Joie’s Art Studio! Every week, they look forward to it and can’t wait to see what they’ll be working on next. It’s been amazing to watch their creativity and confidence grow. The teacher is so kind and patient, and make learning fun while also teaching real skills.

I really appreciate how they get to experiment with different mediums—pastels, sketching, painting, and more. It keeps things interesting and gives them a chance to explore what they really enjoy. As a parent, I love seeing them so engaged in something that sparks their imagination.
