On July 7th 2022, we lost our puppy. In the morning, my husband and I took him to his vet (Blue sky veterinary clinic) for his neutering and micro chip surgery. After he was given his anesthesia, we went back home. Around 9:30, we got a call from the vet saying his surgery went well and there were no complications. We were so relieved. Around 10:30 we got another call from the doctor. She was out of breath and was telling us that our puppy was taken out for potty after the surgery and he got loose. They tried to catch him but they lost him. We were shocked and couldn't find words to talk for a minute. She then went on to say that it will be helpful if we come over and maybe he will return when he hears our voices. We rushed over there (~20 mins away) and started searching that area along with the doctor and her husband. Around 2:00, we were both exhausted and dehydrated and kinda losing our minds. We both decided to go back home and get some water and then continue on our search. The vet's place was close to his daycare, so on the off chance he might go there, we decided to call them up and ask them to keep a lookout for him. Shawn (owner) of Dogtopia, Frisco was quick to lend their hand in helping us find him. Four of his staff came out to search for him and his wife and co-owner posted pics online on their page for our missing puppy. We were also going to head back and search again when we got a text from the doctor's husband that our puppy has been seen. We again rushed to that location and was feeling both excited and somewhat relieved to know he is ok. Unfortunately when we got there, he was on the move again. One of the them, who found him tried to catch him and he got spooked and ran. The search started again but this time we had more help. The local animal shelter, Dogtopia employees and even the kind neighbors around that area. It took another 4 hours to finally find him. He was finally found by Kellsie, Dogtopia employee. She was with us from the minute she heard he was missing and with us every step of the way trying to find him in that hot blazing sun. We will forever be grateful to her and everyone else who helped us in the search to find our fur baby that day. Fortunately, he came back to us without too much damage. He was all better after 2 weeks with lots of rest, yummy food and love! I really hope this wont happen to any parent out there, be it a kid or a pet. We wanted to say special thanks to Dogtopia family for helping us that day when they could have gone about their jobs. But they didn't! Thank you so much, Dogtopia! My experience with Dogtopia was nothing short of devastating. I had high hopes for my one-year-old Maltipoo's time there, but it turned into a nightmare. I felt compelled to leave a one-star review so that others could comprehend the gravity of what occurred.

The facility offers a webcam service for you to keep an eye on your beloved pet, which initially seemed like a fantastic idea. However, as I watched the live feed, my excitement quickly turned to anxiety. The situation was distressing, to say the least.

I genuinely appreciate and adore dogs and their playful nature. However, this scenario took a very concerning turn. Picture this: 25 dogs in one room and virtually no human supervision. My heart sank as I observed a larger dog relentlessly bothering and bullying my little Maltipoo. What was even more disturbing was the fact that there were two staff members present in the same room. Yet, they seemed either completely oblivious or unconcerned about the ongoing issues.

As the bullying continued unchecked, more dogs joined in, and my poor pup was subjected to relentless torment. He was clearly distressed and appeared to be in danger. The most disheartening part was that the staff failed to intervene despite their presence in the room. It was as if they were absorbed in their own conversations, watching TV, or glued to their phones.

Upon returning home, my dog was noticeably different. He seemed more subdued and far from his usual happy self. This place not only lacked proper care and supervision but also allowed the bullying to persist. When I examined him closely, I noticed a long, painful red scratch near his underbelly and a concerning bite mark on his skin.

One has to wonder if the workers have any substantial knowledge about dogs or if they hire just about anyone.

If you truly care for your dog's well-being, I wholeheartedly advise against selecting Dogtopia in Frisco. While the concept of their webcam service may seem appealing, my experience revealed a glaring lack of supervision and care. It became apparent that the staff was more interested in their own activities than the dogs they were entrusted with.

In summary, my visit to Dogtopia was deeply disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who loves their furry companions. DO...

Pet Parents beware! We took our 10-month-old Golden Doodle, Lexie, to #Dogtopia on Preston Road in Frisco for day care. She’d been there a couple of times and she was occasionally sneezing, we thought it was from dust due to a renovation at home. We took her back again the next day and they pointed out she was sneezing. They took her despite the sneezing, no mention of possible kennel cough.

We have since found out that they have and have had kennel cough running through the facility for a few weeks now. Lexie caught it and sneezing was one of the main symptoms. After a day of our energetic baby becoming more and more lethargic we took her to the vet who prescribed anti-biotics. After a few days nothing had improved so we took her back to the vet and our poor girl had pneumonia brought on by the kennel cough. She was immediately hospitalized. This was 7 days ago and she’s still there. They’re hopeful for a recovery and that our baby can come home soon. We called DogTopia who told us that their own dog had caught kennel cough in the facility and our friend who went to tour the facility was told they had cases 3 days before we took her to the vet the first time.

We have called DogTopia to ask for assistance with the vet bills but all they offered was 2 weeks free daycare but won’t be going back there! Our priority is Lexie’s health but we are now out of pocket a lot of money on vet bills, X-Rays, Medications and hospital stays! Other daycare facilities pay the bills, no questions asked.

I understand from researching it that kennel cough is hard to get rid of from a facility and that it’s happening in a lot of places but their FAILURE to communicate the symptoms, taking her in anyway and not notifying us at pick-up about the kennel cough other dogs had is terrible. For a place that claims to care for pets, this borders on negligence in my opinion.

Please, please, please, if you value your fur-babies well-being avoid this place at...

Shawn, Dipa, and the entire team take excellent care of Maya my 66 pound Border Collie Lab Mix when I’m out of town and for daycare several times per week. From the first time I’ve visited with Alicia to this past trip while I was out of the country, Maya has been showered with love. This past trip I received pictures or videos of her from Lilley and the team nearly everyday and it really brought so much joy and comfort knowing that my girl is okay and having an amazing time. Before I picked her up, they arranged for her to have an exit bath and she came out smiling and smelling clean. I cannot recommend Dogtopia of Frisco-Preston enough. They truly love our furry bestfriends in a way that I’ve never seen done before, and would suggest them to anyone who is an anxious pet parent like me. They cover all the stops - between her medicine, water, play breaks, potty breaks, nap time, occasional bubbles during playtime, there is so much fun that happens at this establishment and the dog’s are their happiest because of it. Hugely thankful for this incredible team of individuals who care so much for our animals, and allow us to have the piece of mind that they are well taken care of while we are busy or out of town.
