This park is surprisingly large for a small town and it has plans to get even bigger. Today I stopped at this park for my first time. I was pleasantly surprised by the sign stating the hours it's Dawn till Dusk clearly stated on a sign at one of the entrances to the park. This park has two separate entrances with two separate parking areas. Also that I noted that there was a sign that claimed the park was under 24-hour surveillance. I'm glad to see this in a small town park especially one so close to Hagerstown. As I was walking around taking pictures of the multiple playground areas the multiple Pavilions grilling areas baseball diamonds basketball courts in tennis courts I saw a funkstown public works truck pull in and check the parking lot. I was pleasantly surprised about this. Today I had the pleasure of meeting Jeff who works for the town of funkstown. We discussed the park and their plans of expanding it. And the fact that they do have a 24-hour security surveillance system and that they do periodically check the park themselves. This is definitely a safe place to go I will be bringing my children here to play. Jeff was knowledgeable professional and friendly I wish I ran into more people like him. This was an overall awesome...
