I had a very frustrating experience with Karz Inc. Chuck is nice enough and very friendly but that is where the positive experience ends. He sold me a 2008 Chevy Colorado. My experience after taking this truck home has been a complete nightmare. When looking at the truck I was fed lines about how the house mechanic goes above and beyond and how there were thousands of vehicles on the auction lot and this truck is the only vehicle that day that passed the owners standards and blah blah blah. Now I know used car people are going to say stuff like this to make the sale but I also believe that you should be able to trust that when you spend over 10 grand on something, that it isn’t going to break less than two months later to the tune of 1,000 dollars. The mechanic DID NOT go above and beyond. The mechanic did the bare minimum to pass MD inspection knowing full well that the transmission oil cooler line was rusted out and on the verge of break and that two of the steering tire rods needed to be replaced. These are both things that a competent mechanic (or ethical) would have taken care of while inspecting the vehicle. So that is a matter of ethics. They did offer to fix it but asked for a 3 week wait. I’m sorry, I don’t have three weeks to wait with an unsafe vehicle. So I was forced to take it to another shop that took care of it overnight. Also Speaking of ethics, they sold me a bogus warranty that (guess what) didn’t cover any of the repairs. I asked Karz to do the right thing and at least cover the cost of the bogus warranty and they agreed to cover a small PORTION of the warranty. This half measure is an embarrassment and is definitely not enough to buy my silence. This is a matter of ethical business practice and if I were you, I would think twice before getting a vehicle from this place!
Adding some edits because apparently I have to defend my position on this. I am not disputing your standard warranty. I understand the terms of that and made no mention of it. 2 You got me there. I don't have a law degree to understand the terms of that contract fully. I am just trying to warn people that is doesn't cover much. 3. And this is an important one if you want to talk about half truths. Chuck told me there was a 3 week wait for repairs. So I made other plans. It doesn't matter that he came back later to offer a next day service because I had made plans based on the info he gave me. 4. Okay 66% is a 66% measure. Either way I do not feel taken care of.
At the end of the day you sold me a truck that you knew wasn't good to go and you and your mechanic said it was. I was told "above and beyond" and it wasn't. That is the real ethical issue
I hope this clarifies my position and it helps future customers avoid the mistakes I...
Read morePreviously I have been screwed over by used car dealers. I had been looking on Craigslist and local dealers. The search was disappointing, when I saw Karz Inc. on google, I decided to do some looking there because their reviews were fantastic. The reviewers did not lie. During the research phase, Chuck the sales rep did not pressure me, or hound me with an abundance of emails or calls. He listened to my previous experience with used cars, and responded to each one with a comforting answer. He made sure that I was comfortable every step of the way. He knew how big this was for me. I originally went in to look at a Nissan and end up buying a Ford Escape with AWD, I am so happy with my purchase, my next will definitely be with Karz Inc. Chuck made me a believer in their service. Their motto "You can drive on our reputation" really holds a lot of weight. They stand behind their sales and service. If you are looking for a car and feel like that maybe your dream of driving something that you are happy with and can afford is not manageable you need to talk to Chuck. I am writing this post 3 weeks into my purchase, and I have no complaints. If you are not looking to buy a car and just need service, take a trip to Karz Inc. their mechanic will be straight up with you and not mark you up like most major repair places, my wife usually gets her service from a major place, and the mechanic gave us some great answers and was honest with us without trying to rake us...
Read moreI bought a Dodge Caravan from them, on one hand their salesmen Rob is a great guy and very kind but the owner Keith is a tyrant. He is very hard to deal with, doesn’t return phone calls, and just seems to all the way around be someone you don’t wanna deal with. My cars radio was not working when I purchased it, it was not told to me before the purchase. Rob offered to replace it free of charge, which is 1 plus. But Keith is sneaky. My transmission was messed up and needed new tort converters, which ended in a total transmission replacement. Thank god I had bought a car warranty, with Kars Inc your given a 30 day warranty through them but Keith refused to fix anything out of his own pocket and made me go through my car warranty and took his good old time fixing my car. I had to rent a car for 16 days which cost me 700 dollars. If you’re going to buy a car bring a mechanic along with you because they sell cars the way they are and don’t seem to care their condition. They aren’t very trust worthy and seem to be full of it. Getting a car from Kars Inc caused me a lot of aggravation and driving an hour one way a few times. If you purchase a car you can file a complaint through the MVA if he doesn’t comply with what the standards of a car dealership is...
