My husband and I got married at Rosemont in 2012, back when someone besides Eli was running the place. We didn’t have a great experience because of that person BUT we stopped by today to take a look just for fun. It’s like night and day. I wish we could redo our wedding there now. Lol. It is such a cool old home with lots of interesting history and Eli, who runs it, is basically an encyclopedia. You can tell he really has a passion for it. The house has been improved in lots of ways and they are having cool events and things there now too. The place is beautiful, it is insanely affordable to book (it also has a small reception area that was great for our wedding), and now that Eli is there I have no doubt it would be a great experience. I used to never mention Rose Mont to people when they were looking for a wedding venue, but that all changed today...thanks to Eli! Go meet him and tour the place, you...

The lady that met us at the house was such a good storyteller and could tell you what pieces of the furniture in the house were original. She said pieces that are keep coming back to them all the time. This house has a lot of parking, bathroom and they allow you to take photos inside as long as no flash very common. I adored this house and could have spent all day listening to her give us stories about the house. I...
Read moreInteresting place with an engaging tour. Great ability to interact with the property and the collection. There's a little too much of the "lost cause" in the tour but the experience of the enslaved is continuously acknowledged (not so much "the Yankees"). They actually have more verified detail of the lives of specific enslaved individuals than many other sites in the area. The architecture and physical details alone are worth the visit. In summer you can really experience the benefit of the seperate structures joined by breezy open porches. The horse farm aspect of the property and some post-bellum details make it unique among historic sites...
