Aquarium At Moody Gardens — Attraction in Galveston

Participated in the "Breakfast with a Penguin" this morning and was there with my mom since we both have memberships through our jobs. This was the second day of this event as I was told that the first day sold out in 3 hours in which I was at first upset because I hem-hawed about purchasing the ticket which covered a small conservation fee. When they offered the second day I immediately purchased them. My mom and I being the big kids we are thoroughly enjoyed the event, where you got breakfast, a ceramic penguin to paint ( provided by ClayCup Studios here in Galveston which I'm definitely going to visit after talking and finding out they also do glass fusing, silk,wood, and more items besides ceramics)while each table went up to take pictures with the penguin- San Juan, then the Moody Gardens big penguin mascot came in and well, YES we took pictures with that one too, lol! The extra bonus was that we were in the Pompano room in which there was a beautiful aquarium with a variety of fish to see and just one of my favorites - the stingrays, I was able to touch several of them and this added to the experience today. It was great and as we were getting ready to leave I thanked everyone and asked what other types of events like this they had coming up and gave some ideas. Amazing place - from the outside. Worst customer service I’ve ever had in my life! From the moment I walked in, the woman at the counter was unfriendly and rude. No smiles from any employees here. They all hate their jobs. No good attitudes. I would change management and restaff this place so fast…. The employees at the movie theater area told me they had no idea what movies were playing or at what times. Ok. I asked the person at the info counter about one specific one, he said ‘he didn’t know that one’ and asked me to describe it. Just lied for no reason acted like I was ridiculous for even being in there. In addition, I am in a wheelchair, so you would think they would be extra nice to me! They acted like I was some mean person or something. At the stingray part, you can only pet the rays with two fingers. What? At the aquarium in Houston you can pet them with your whole hand and stick your whole arm in there if you want. The aquarium at Houston is way better honestly. They’re nicer and there’s a restaurant in there with a big fish tank in the middle thats so cool. This aquarium has too much space in it for how few exhibits there are. You have to walk all around and up and down these huge ramps. One of the employees in the rainforest pyramid was looking at me like he hated me so much for some reason. All I was doing was looking at this little monkey, not doing a thing wrong and he was just staring at me with this mean face. Weird! I was able to visit Moody Gardens Aquarium Galveston with my wife and son for his 1st birthday and we enjoyed it so much!!! The staff were amazing, attentive, and informative. We learned a lot about the different species and we bought the value pass (purchasing online was cheaper price and we were able to purchase the pass the same day!) we were glad we visited during the morning and during a weekday because it was not crowded just yet and we felt like we had plenty of time to explore everything and experience all of the activities. We enjoyed the rainforest (check it out first as it mimics an actual Amazon rainforest with the temperatures and everything) and it was so cool, the aquarium was very much worth it and had a lot of animals that we loved to see. Also, the best part is throughout the experience at Moody Gardens Aquarium and rainforest, we felt like the animals were actually happy and content to be there. We saw on several occasions the workers feeding the animals and taking great care of the animals. This felt very much like our money is contributing to education and conservation for animals and we loved that!! We can’t wait to visit again with our family/friends next time. We...
