Beautiful park! I have a large dog so we stayed in the big dog area. There were two other dogs when we got here but right now I'm sitting on a shady bench, just her and I, writing this review. It is, unfortunately, about the only shady bench on this side BUT being open 6 am to 8 pm everyday allows plenty of opportunity for cooler weather. We knew this park would be spacious but I don't think either of us expected it to be quite this large and open, it's great that she has sone room to run and there's still plenty of room for lots of other dogs. I would have given this 5 stars if there was a bit more shade for the two-leggeds and if there wasn't an oleander. Oleanders can be poisonous to dogs and people and my dog will eat a leaf off of just about anything. It would be amazing if that plant could be replaced with something non-toxic but it is only one in a big park that is otherwise pretty well landscaped! Can't wait for others to find out that it's now open after having waited (im)patiently for so long lol great park and a wonderful addition to this already dog...
Read moreI just discovered this dog park and it's GREAT! It's only 2 minutes from my house, so me and the fur kids can walk to it if we choose. There is plenty of room for lots of dogs here. There are 2 areas, one for large dogs and one for smaller dogs or older dogs that don't want to run and play as much. I love that they are making this a multi-layered lay out with hills for the dogs to run on and explore. There are doggie water fountains and a wash off area outside of the play area so dogs can get cleaned off before getting back in the car. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because the park is not completed yet. It looks like they are going to add a splash pad for the...
Read moreThe best dog park on Galveston Island. All of the dogs here are very friendly, and this place is HUGE. The large dog area is 2 acres, and the smaller dog area is about .5 acre. There are plenty of toys, water buckets, and things there for your dog to do. I cant' believe this has to be said, but don't bring food into the park with your dog. Seriously, this has been the only...
