The actual address says Seawall Blvd but, do not be fooled this hotel sits off of Stewart Rd. which is what you need to tell any delivery drivers or guests. This also effects the “ocean” view you think your getting! You may be able to see parts of the ocean through other bldg from certain rooms but, it is not a clear view. The first room we had I was literally being attacked by roaches. The 2nd room had some roaches but, at least they weren’t flying into my hair and running up my legs. There are no coffee pots in the rooms and the refrigerator has no freezer. The furniture paint and decor is all mismatched and things like the very outdated alarm clock is caked with dirt. They only have showers, no bathtubs if you have kids. Both of our rooms were right by the elevator so we heard the ding ding ding all night long. I’ve stayed at this hotel many times and none of these things were an issue but this time I couldn’t sleep due to the 24/7 elevator dings, door slamming from other rooms, children running up and down the halls, I even witnessed a few domestic fights and one family was tackling and wrestling with their kids in the hallway in front of our door, and I swear the ppl above us slept all day and then paced, moved heavy furniture around, and dropped bowling balls allll night long. The cleaning crew is loud and they start at around 8 to 9am instead of at checkout time which is 11am. Check in is 3pm. They have free wifi but it is the weakest slowest most irritating wifi I’ve ever experienced so I went thru my data on my phone plan three times. They have free breakfast but it’s not great and get there when it starts at 6:30am instead of towards closing at 9:30am or you will be fighting to even get a biscuit (they don’t set them out till around 7am to 8am) or a spoon. The eggs are powdered eggs and the gravy for the biscuits tastes weird and made my friend sick. They also offer crushed bagels, danishes if you can get there before they are gone, mini muffins that no one ever eats, cream cheese (plain only) that sits out all morning, 4 kinds of stale cereal, milk (if they haven’t run out and sometimes they just sit the jug of milk out on the counter all morning and it will be hot), make your own waffles machines (pray they havent run out of reg syrup and there’s only two machines so you will be waiting in line if you don’t get there early enough), bananas (that are black), oranges (that are still yellow) packets of oatmeal sometimes, apple & orange juice (if they have refilled it), and my fave was the yogurt w/ your choice off granola, raisins, and brown sugar, good luck with there actually being any yogurt or granola though and if you ask them (when and if they come out of the back) to refill it they get an attitude and take their sweet time (I waited an hour one day for yogurt, granola, and coffee). The only good thing I can really say is for the cleaning employees…well the lady we had anyways (the other cleaning lady was rude like you were bothering her)…our reg lady was polite, she was always willing to clean the room or give you clean sheets, towels, tp, shampoo, conditioner, soap, trash bags, etc etc. Oh and there aren’t ice machines on every floor and you can’t do your laundry either plus they no longer have irons or ironing boards or dirty laundry bags in the rooms anymore. And, as if this isn’t a long enough review the sewer stench coming out of the sink and shower drains is horrible I used wash rags to plug them up to hold the smell off some and sprayed all of my body spray, deodorant, and perfume down them and in the room also. The remotes for the tv’s do not work even if you buy new batteries to put in them. The tv’s are small and are not smart tv’s. Oh I almost forgot we had to get new key cards four times because they would just stop working....
Read moreThis place ONLY got a 4 because of Wendy!!
My husband and I recently got married before COVID and couldn’t take a honeymoon. So why not a quick relaxing weekend alone down the state to the nearest beach. Well until we met Wendy, there was NOTHING relaxing or pleasant about our “honeymoon”.
At check in the young lady was rude. After a 4 hour drive We were was ready to get into the king suite with the balcony over looking an ocean view that we requested and paid for already. We are told because it was 11pm we had to be put in a Queen on the first floor (no ocean view). I didn’t care to argue so I asked the young lady the price difference that will be refunded to my card. The young lady responded that there wasn’t one because the rooms are priced the same. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. No ma’am they are not. Go to your website and book a room. The more “leisure accommodations” you have in a room means more a night.
Not at all happy with my check in experience, we settle in and try to salvage the night. At roughly 6:30am we are yanked out of our slumber because our room is flooding. Water was coming from the ceiling everywhere. The young lady was still on her shift and took her time getting to our room when we rushed down the hall to inform her of the situation. By this point it was far too late for our bags and we had items ruined due to water damage. We were moved into another room by 8. But as we walked all you could see in there was a giant roach dead on the table. We had enough.
I had every intention of demanding a refund and leaving immediately. We wanted relaxation and peace to enjoy a happy beginning but we got nothing close to that. This is where out savior Wendy comes in. When I asked for a manager I was informed there wasn’t one. Matters where handled between Head of housekeeping (young lady from check in) and Wendy until a manger was hired.
Wendy swiftly fixed everything. Her attitude was respectful and she was the only person who helped us out. Wendy upgraded the room, gave a full refund, and was extremely upset by how we were treated. Her communication with us for the rest of our stay was beyond the call of duty. After my experience with the two young ladies it was very clear to see who needed to be...
Read moreNot impressed at all! My wife stayed here previously and doesnt remember it being less than pleasant.
There was only 1 person working the front so it took a little while to get checked in. While my wife was checking in, the couple that checked in before her came back down because they were given a room that was already occupied. They actually walked in on the occupants.
When we finally get to the room we find that the door doesnt open all the way due to the flooring being uneven. It had to be pushed with significant force and scraped the floor pretty hard.
The bathroom entry is right next to the door and had flooring issues too. The tiles were cracked, loose and coming up when stepped on. I actually pinched my foot walking in there once. And its definitely a hazard for our 3 year old.
The luggage car was on its last leg and as I was bring our things up, people were coming in from the pool through the lobby into the elevator dripping water everywhere. A Days Inn employee actually entered the elevator with them and didnt say anything. I got the same elevator next and there were puddles in the elevator when I got in.
We were on the 3rd floor and guess what? No ice machine. They are on the 2nd and 4th. There was a soda machine but it was out of order.
Other than that the beds were decent, shower(no tub) was hot. Had microwave(didnt use), small fridge(not very cold).
Oh...its not technically on Seawall Blvd even though the address states that. They have a sign there but you have to drive through the Best Western lot to het to it. There is an entrance on the Stewart Road side. So if you want to walk to the beach, its about 500 yards and there is a big incline in the Best Western lot you have to go up.
We tried to save a little money and trust some of the reviews but we cancelled day 2 and are transferring to Moody Gardens.
Room 310 on 7/23/18 if...
