Passaic River Falls — Attraction in Garfield

Very nice scenic area with a small park that overlooks the Dundee Dam as well as part of what was once the historic Dundee textile canal (from which the falls derive their name). The park is sometimes not always the cleanest & the Passaic river itself is quite polluted so your mileage may vary. It should be noted that this is NO LONGER a boat loading area. There is ample car parking via several parking lots located nearby. Great for families but children should be very closely supervised due to the nature of the area. Nice place to relax and view the falls. Very pretty I just wish there was better seating and possibly some tables to enjoy a simple lunch. We visited here to do just that but a table would have been great. There’s a small playground here if you have small children and there are ample benches in that area which is near the parking not the falls.
