AMAZING - it's a blast from the past. If you walk in it feels like your in the 90s/80s and you literally wouldn't be able to tell minus the POS computers and the new soda labels.
I went here with some friends not really expecting much. We got a bunch of different stuff. Hot dogs, Cheeseburgers, BLTs, Fish Sandwich, Fries and Roast Beef. Everything with their chili / gravy - its basically in between - like gravy with bits of meat - not like the full hearty bean / tomato / beef chili that you may be thinking of
The staff there is attentive and they dont even write everything down - we ordered like 10 things and they just yelled it to the back.
Hot dogs were good but I prefer a standard New York Nathans dog with the natural snap or Chicago Dog with the standard toppings. I believe the hot dogs are deep fried. The gravy just goes ok with the dog.
Cheeseburgers were great. BLT was just ok - growing up in New York City its not much different than your typical bodega stuff. Fish sandwich was great- deep fried battered cod - tartar sauce was fresh and tangy.
Roast beef was amazing - the gravy complements it perfectly. Before the only roast beef I had was arbys and that's not even like real roast beef it's like tough deli processed meat. This was real top shrloin - cut against the grain, medium / medium raw. It is one of the best sandwiches I ever had. The fries were amazing too - they are standard like diner fries but the white American cheese and gravy pairs perfectly.
I have never been blown away by any fast causal / fast food / diner - but this is on the top of my list and I will be a regular here.
Only negative was that the drinks may be a tad expensive with no refills - $3.90 and they could have put more ice in the drink.
Neutral - the portions are smaller so it's not necessary a great value but it allows you to try different things without getting too full. These are literally 90s size portions though so it makes sense with the whole theme of...
Read moreSo I saw this video on Facebook recommending this place, and you know me, I say, let's take a ride! So we got the famous Texas wieners, all the way wieners! It's a fried hotdog on a bun with their special made chili and cheese with raw onions. I skipped the onion as I only like them sautéed. Sorry if I offend anyone, but I was disappointed in the taste. The chili was like a gravy rather than a sweet chili sauce. I didn't like the flavor. However, they have other items to choose like burgers, beefs, and all-day breakfast. The other dishes may be good without the chili gravy. I wouldn't mind trying something else. The fries had a good crunch, but unfortunately, I got them with the special chili sauce topping, so next time, just ketchup for me. Many people from the area love the chili sauce, so I am not disputing their love of it. It just wasn't in my wheelhouse of flavors! I went on a Sunday so there were quite a few people. The interaction with staff felt rushed, and there was not much customer service. It was just transactional. I also had a strawberry milk shake, but I wouldn't recommend this either. For 2 people, 3 hot dogs, an order of fries, and 2 sodas came out to about over 25 dollars. That didn't include the milkshakes I ordered after the meal. I think that was too much for a small amount of food. But as always, I say check it out for yourself, you may fall in love with...

Homemade Minestrone Combo Special Hot Dog All The Way
Appearance: 8.9/10 Taste: 9.1/10
Located at the intersection of Lexington Avenue and Thimble Avenue is a locally owned hot dog restaurant.
Here are a few of the menu items I explored.
Homemade Minestrone: Freshly made in house, this starter will definitely kick start the meal.
Enjoy a vegetable medley ranging from beans to celery to potato along with small bits of pasta in a savory broth.
For that added crunch, don’t be shy with the oyster crackers. It will definitely complement the flavor.
Combo Special: A minute disadvantage is that this combo doesn’t include a side, but it has a variety of toppings including hickory ham and melted cheese on a hard roll.
The burger patty is made from prime beef.
Hot Dog All The Way: This deep fried dog is piled with chili, chopped onions, and a touch of mustard.
As a bonus, all of those toppings were added for no additional charge.
If you aren’t in the mood for lunch, arrive in the early morning hours to explore the breakfast options.
There are plenty of seating options which also includes a few outdoor tables.
Overall, the food was decent and the service was impeccable.
