Nasr Jewelers — Attraction in Garland

I would not recommend this store for anyone wanting a custom ring designed. After my experience of paying them for a redesign, and then not liking what they did, John said he would do it the way I originally asked them to and that he would be "very good to me on the charge and not to worry, that he didn't want to say whose fault it was but that they wanted me to be happy." When I was at the point of paying the second time, John said it was only $50 less than what I paid them the first time. We also bought 2 diamonds that were supposed to match, but the table size was not the same. It was very obvious. John said there was nothing he could do about it. After having to pay more for their labor, we refused the diamonds and went to another jeweler to complete the ring. I feel John took advantage of my lack of knowledge and I am very sorry I believed he was sincere when he said he would be good to me on the price for the second design. The second time he made it the way I had originally requested but the mounting was still too high. The first ring set up a full half inch above the band. It was very ugly. I do think there was a communication issue as I would tell John what to do, then he would tell his brother, he said, then his brother would tell his nephew what we wanted. After all was said and done, John admitted that it was another company that was designing the ring. I was only provided a wax model to see. I could not visualize the ring from the wax. At a more reputable jeweler, they show you the wax model as well as a computer image of the design with the stones in place. When I went to the better jeweler he noticed that one of the prongs was cracked and the stone was not set straight. When he opened the prong it broke and had to be repaired. John also assured me the size would be 7.25, but the first ring was over an 8. The second ring was assured to be the correct size, but it was delivered at a 6.75. I then had to pay the second jeweler $106 to resize the ring to a 7.25. I would never recommend using any of the NASR jewelers. I was overcharged. I would never have had them fix the ring the second time had I known John was going to charge me the full price minus $50. The full price is $1800. I am very happy with the work I had done at a jeweler at Casa Linda in Dallas. They would have done what I wanted the first time for about $600. I was looking for a jeweler who can change out my watch batteries. An associate at Macy’s at Town East Mall told me about Nasr Jewelers. I went there and was taken care of right on the spot. Then recently, I accidentally broke my brand new gold necklace i bought in India. I was devastated I wouldn’t be able to get it repaired. I brought my necklace and earrings to Nasr and he took care of me once again. This time it took a few days to repair the necklace and he offered to clean both my earrings and necklace. When I came to pick them up, he stayed open long enough for me to get them. I looked at them and fell in love all over again. I’m so happy to have been directed to Nasr and will continue to come for all my fine jewelers needs. I would recommend this place. If I could give them a 0 star, I would. Most of the time an “I’m sorry, let me fix the quality of our work” will suffice. I never heard the words “I’m sorry” from John. I took in a black diamond necklace to have it reclasped. They fixed it with fishing wire! Then, proceeded to tell me they fixed my “beads” quickly and then asked how I would have liked him to fix it. They did not even recognize my necklace was black diamonds. They may do quick work, but their quality and customer service is subpar. While he reluctantly refunded my money, I now have to find a more reputable jewler to fix their mistake. Also, as I was walking out of the store, John said he had never been spoken to like that before. I was never rude, used profanity or was disrespectful in any way.
